They came in all the curviest shapes and cup sizes that left eyes wide open, jaws dropped, and muscles tensed for a good three hours or so.
On July 10, the World Trade Center in Pasay City became the best place to be man with a DSLR camera, as the sexiest ladies in the country jumped out of the pages of FHM and into the stage of “Isla Mujeres” (Spanish for Island of Women).
The “FHM 100 Sexiest Victory Party” had an “exotic” theme for this year, but rather than being a women-only island—where men are usually forbidden—Isla Mujeres welcomed giddy males to babe-filled booths, sultry performances and an intense runway show.
Front acts
Being sexy was the rule of the night and most of the ladies did not disappoint. The show began with the Petrol ladies Sanya-Smith, Paulene-So and Ornusa Cadness representing the brand in their shiny skin tight, futuristic garb. Up next were the Kojie.san Men with their Kabuki inspired warrior-women led by Abby Poblador, and a musical performance of all-female rock band General Luna.
The Petron girls then gave blazing performance as Premiere vixen models Natalie Hayashi and Jahziel Manabat stripped down to their white bikinis.
Rogin-E’s booth was one of the most visited booths and the gangster-inspired number of Natalia Moon, Esjhae Red, Sara Polverini and Regina Castillo also turned out to be the most revealing with some of the models going topless.
Jinri-Park led the Wargaming.net team of Ritz Azul, Regine Angeles and Jacq Yu proving that military uniforms are indeed sexy. The finale of the first part of the show was a performance by Kamikazee providing the background music for the Tanduay ladies decked in black and gold.
Sexy back
A few brief moments later, sexy icon Aubrey Miles emerged onstage as the first FHM Goddess, followed by dance numbers from Bangs Garcia, Glaiza de Castro, Ryza Cenon and Meg Imperial. Former child star Empress then ended the set with another dance performance wearing a rather enticing all-white getup.

All those acts served as a teasing prelude for the much-awaited grand parade of FHM’s sexiest. Getting some of the loudest ovations were Jahziel Manabat, Misibis Bay star Ritz Azul, Korean DJ Jinri Park; Roxee B (Roxanne Barcelo); Starstruck alumni Jackie Rice, LJ Reyes and Ryza Cenon; Hot Babes Andrea del Rosario, Gwen Garci and Sheree; and the surprising return of sexy royalties Janna Victoria and comedienne Ruffa Mae Quinto.

But perhaps the most unexpected appearance of the night was that of Brazilian bombshell Daiana Menezes. Wearing a very skimpy glittering pink two-piece bikini, Daiana was all smiles and showed no signs of distress following the suicide attempt of her husband former Rep. Benjamin Benaldo.
FHM Philippines Sexiest Woman of 2013, Marian Rivera, finally made her grand entrance wearing a sun god-inspired ensemble, complete with a pair of ornate golden wings to end the night.

Noticeably missing from the event were seven of the top 10 winners, namely Sam Pinto, Angel Locsin, Jennylyn Mercado, Christine Reyes, Solenn Heussaff, Ellen Adarna, Anne Curtis and even July cover girl Alodia Gosiengfiao.
First timers such as Ritz Azul, however, expressed her excitement about being part of the sexiest list and walking the ramp. Ritz debuted at a very impressive no. 28 overall in the final tally.
In an interview backstage after the event, Ritz said she was very flattered by the cheers and applause she got from the crowd. “Sobrang saya, I felt like a princess habang naririnig ko yung sigawan nila, yung palakpakan nila, yun ang na-miss kong gawin sa pagpa-pageant, yung rumampa.”
Ritz added she was even surprised that she didn’t feel nervous about being on stage with other sexy women. “Yun nga, natakot nga ako dahil hindi ako kinakabahan, which was weird kasi lagi akong kinakabahan—ngayon lang hindi. Maybe because I was just so excited. Siguro nakatulong rin yung Misibis Bay kaya na-feel kong sexy ako.”
(Misibis Bay is a new drama series currently airing on TV5).
Meanwhile, even if Daiana’s outfit was one of the most revealing, the controversial Brazilian model-host was quite restrained with her words when interviewed by media.
“I can’t say anything,” Daiana told the press when asked regarding the latest developments in her personal life. “Work lang po talaga, work lang po talaga,” she kept saying to everyone’s disappointment.
Before making her exit, surrounded by security, she made an appeal to the public to allow her family some privacy during this difficult time. “Please respect my privacy. I love the Philippines, we’re just working,” she said.
Daiana has been involved in a couple of recent controversies following her Instagram posts that hinted domestic abuse and the subsequent failed suicide attempt by her husband a few weeks ago.
The FHM Sexiest Victory upholds its reputation as one of the most anticipated events of the year especially for men, but it could do better with the presence of more of the top winners, much better outfits for the ladies, and a bit more choreography for the dancers.
Postscript: What the organizers need to lessen is the presence of clueless bouncers who allow fans backstage, stop reporters from doing interviews, and keep blocking the celebrities with their big heads.
