Start the countdown as TV’s most addictive series returns! Suits Season 3 premieres on JackTV this July 31, Wednesday at 9PM with all new episodes. The hit law drama follows ace attorney Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and his associate, legal prodigy Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) – who actually doesn’t have a law degree—as they juggle demanding caseloads, and tackle dramatic developments in their personal lives.
Last season we saw the dynamic duo continue to hide Mike’s secret as they dealt with the menacing return of founding partner Daniel Hardman (David Costabile). Caught up in the internal power struggle between senior partner Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) and Hardman, Harvey and Mike went to war to ensure that Jessica ended the victor and that Harvey’s name would go up on the door.
However, where we left off, Harvey’s ultimate goal of becoming partner looked to be far from coming true. With Jessica wanting to merge with the British Law Firm headed by Edward Darby (Conleth Hill), she put her own career at risk in order to stop Harvey and Mike from ruining her deal. Eager to teach her protégé a lesson, she makes it clear to Harvey that she is the boss and the one that calls the shots and he is not to cross her if he knows what’s good for him.
Away from the office, Mike and Harvey dealt with a number of personal problems, from a death in the family, to the return of old flames. But Mike’s biggest obstacle came when paralegal Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle) informed him of her denial of admission to Harvard Law. Forcing Mike to reveal his real reasons for not helping her with her application, Rachel’s confrontation brings about an intense dialogue that ends with Mike revealing he never finished his law degree.
With the start of Season 3, each character must deal with the fallout of their actions. There is tension between Mike and Rachel; a rift between Mike and Harvey; and a divide between Jessica and Harvey.
Rachel who aspires to be a lawyer must deal with Mike living the life she has always longed for with the knowledge he didn’t earn it. Will she be able to stay quiet and keep his secret or will her ill-will cause her to push Mike to reveal the truth?
Aside from Rachel, Mike also needs to win back the trust of Harvey. But that’s not going to be easy as Harvey takes on a bribery case involving oil honcho Ava Hessington (guest star Michelle Fairley) and he makes it clear that he doesn’t want Mike at his side. Jessica doesn’t help matters when she gives Mike a new office.
Speaking of Jessica, having thrown her weight around in order to prove that she is in charge, she has more or less alienated herself. Only time will tell if Harvey and Jessica can find a common ground in which they can talk through their issues. However, with the merger still being finalized Jessica might want to have someone in her corner as throughout the course of this season we will see a battle for control of the firm and as usual, people’s allegiances will shift, and alliances will change.
