According to the 2026 eCommerce Savvy Shopper Report by Cube in partnership with Lazada, 36% of Filipino online shoppers qualify as “Savvy Shoppers,” the highest proportion across the six Southeast Asian markets surveyed. Another 22% fall into the “Near-Savvy” category.
The report looks at how shoppers verify products and sellers, seek better value, use digital shopping tools, and consider buyer protection. Its findings suggest Filipino shoppers are looking beyond the discount tag, paying closer attention to authenticity, seller credibility, and the information available before checkout.
For its part, Lazada points to LazMall’s authenticity guarantee, its AI chatbot LazzieChat, and in-app shopping tools as features that help shoppers make more informed purchases.
“Filipinos are becoming more intentional about how they shop online. They want value, but they also want confidence in what they buy, who they buy it from, and the quality they can expect,” said Janet Sioco, Head of General Operations at Lazada Philippines.
