Sunshine Fort: Bringing the best of Japan to the Philippine property scene

There’s a new and exciting Japanese-inspired real estate project in BGC North that is sending ripples of excitement in the property industry not only for its superb concept, but also the stellar names behind it.

If you still haven’t heard about it, here’s the great piece of news: Federal Land, Inc., one of the largest property developers in the country, has tied up with the leading lights in Japan – real estate developer Nomura Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., and retail operator Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Ltd. – for its latest joint venture project. The Sunshine Fort project is an iconic mixed-use development reflects the Japanese tradition of excellence, innovation, and artistry. It is seen to solidify the Philippines’ status as a global destination for investors and consumers alike.

The Sunshine Fort project will rise within Federal Land’s 10-hectare Grand Central Park development in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig. Here, Federal Land, Nomura Real Estate and Isetan Mitsukoshi will jointly develop a Japanese-inspired residential condominium and department store, which will rise close to the 66-storey Grand Hyatt Manila Hotel and the 50-storey Grand Hyatt Manila Residences beside it.

The project is the product of the combined might of three giants. Federal Land Inc. is the property unit of George Ty’s GT Capital Holdings Inc., whose interests include the Metrobank Group, Toyota Motor Philippines, among many others.  Nomura Real Estate Development is a top developer in Japan, with a presence in the office, residential, and commercial sectors, among several other business. Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings is a retail powerhouse that has defined the Japanese shopping scene with its unique stores and exciting concepts.

With 1,395 residential units, the project will be a landmark in itself. Once completed, it will feature condominium units with Japanese features and amenities never before seen in the country. The Japanese have always been known for their designs and touches that beautifully combine efficiency, functionality and style.

The Isetan department store is expected to inject greater excitement into the Philippine retail scene, and cement the country’s reputation as a world-glass shopping destination. Shoppers can look forward to a unique shopping experience from Isetan Mitsukoshi as well as a host of well-loved Japanese products to delight the most discriminating shoppers.

Beyond this, residents of the Sunshine Fort residential project will also enjoy all the conveniences and the well-balanced lifestyle that the Grand Central Park township offers. Foremost of these is access to choice entertainment and lifestyle destinations. Dotting the township are high-end offices, one-of-a-kind retail stores, and top hotels, amidst lots of greenery and wide open spaces.Defining the Grand Central Park skyline are modern buildings that bear the Federal Land logo. There’s Park West, an office-residential condominium at the corner of 7th Avenue and 36th Street with sprawling parks, exquisite art installations, and charming cafes.

Another is the 43-storey Madison Park West, located at the corner of 6th avenue and 36th street in Grand Central Park, which promises a dynamic lifestyle inspired by New York and the exclusivity of access to the country’s most popular entertainment venues.

Just a block away, at the corner of 6th Avenue and 38th Street, is the 43-storey single tower, Times Square West, with exhilarating views and top-notch features such as a wine cellar, reflexology path, healing garden, a reinvigorating sauna room, and a luxurious lap pool, among many others.

And as it takes shapes, the Sunshine Fort project is sure to set new benchmarks in the Philippine real estate industry, thanks to Japanese expertise and technology combined with Filipino ingenuity.
