At Sound Amplified, held on September 23 at Élan by the Bay in Parañaque City, JBL unveiled new portable speakers, PartyBox systems, home audio products, true wireless earbuds and gaming headsets. Leading the lineup is the JBL Pulse 6, which pairs music with a customizable 360-degree lightshow and adds a few thoughtful ways to set the mood at home.
There is plenty to unpack, from a whole-home Wi-Fi speaker system that lets your music follow you between rooms to a 1500W PartyBox with built-in AI vocal removal for karaoke. Here’s a closer look at what JBL is bringing to the party, the living room and your everyday playlist.
JBL Pulse 6: Music and Lighting for Different Moods
The Pulse has always had an immediately recognizable appeal: a speaker you can watch as well as listen to. The JBL Pulse 6 builds on that idea with JBL Legendary Sound, AI Sound Boost technology and a customizable 360-degree lightshow.
This time, the lighting extends to an illuminated handle, with fresh effects that move with the beat. Party and ambient lighting modes give users different ways to match the setting, whether they’re hosting friends or settling in for the evening.
Two additions make the Pulse 6 particularly interesting for bedside use. Sunset Mode gradually dims the lights for a relaxing wind-down, while the Bedside Lamp feature provides a soft glow with a simple double tap. Those are useful options for anyone who wants the speaker to earn its place on the nightstand after the music stops.
The Pulse 6 offers up to 12 hours of playtime and IP68 waterproof and dustproof protection, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor gatherings. Through the JBL One app, users can customize sound and lighting preferences.
For a bigger setup, Auracast connectivity lets users link the Pulse 6 with other compatible JBL speakers. It can also synchronize lighting with select PartyBox speakers and JBL PartyLight products, bringing the music and visual effects together across a compatible system.
PartyBox 330 and Ultimate 2: Bigger Sound, More Ways to Party
For celebrations where a portable speaker needs backup, JBL has introduced the PartyBox 330 and PartyBox Ultimate 2.
The PartyBox 330 brings deeper bass, clearer highs and a redesigned lightshow that moves with the music. It offers up to 18 hours of playtime, easier mobility and karaoke-ready inputs, along with compatibility with JBL EasySing Mics.
That combination gives hosts room to move from background music to dancing and karaoke as the gathering picks up. The longer playtime also helps keep the playlist going through extended celebrations.
The PartyBox Ultimate 2 takes things considerably further. JBL describes it as its most powerful and advanced PartyBox yet, delivering 1500W of JBL Legendary Sound, or over 36% more power than its predecessor.
Its upgraded acoustic system combines professional-grade tweeters, mid-range drivers and powerful woofers, designed to deliver deeper bass, richer vocals and greater detail. An immersive full-panel lightshow adds the visual spectacle, while touchscreen controls put the party’s settings within reach.
Karaoke gets a particularly useful addition: built-in EasySing AI Vocal Removal, which transforms favorite tracks into karaoke-ready songs. There are also interactive party games to give guests another reason to join in.
Anyone responsible for the next family reunion now has a few more tools to keep everyone entertained.
JBL Cove: Let the Music Follow You Home
One of the most practical introductions is JBL Cove, a new whole-home Wi-Fi audio system built around the Cove M1, Cove P1 and Cove X1.
The three models cover different home listening needs, from compact everyday setups to portable listening and powerful room-filling audio. Each speaker can work on its own, as part of a stereo pair or within a connected system.
Using the JBL One app, listeners can play music throughout the house or choose different playlists for individual rooms. That means the bedroom and living room can each have their own soundtrack without requiring everyone to agree on what comes next.
The Cove P1 adds portability with up to 14 hours of playtime. Both the P1 and X1 support Dolby Atmos, adding depth and dimension to the listening experience.
The feature that stands out for everyday convenience is Music Follows Me. A press of the Moment button transfers music to another room, without having to reach for a phone or open an app. For someone moving between the kitchen, bedroom and living room, that is a welcome shortcut.
Cove speakers also work with compatible JBL Bar Series MK2 soundbars, allowing the system to expand from music listening into home entertainment.
Cinema SB510MK2 and SB550MK2: Give Movie Night an Upgrade
JBL’s new Cinema SB510MK2 and Cinema SB550MK2 soundbars focus on clearer dialogue, powerful bass and immersive audio for movies, shows and everyday television.
Both feature dedicated center channels, Dolby Audio and easy connectivity. Their main difference is how they deliver bass and how much power they offer.
The Cinema SB510MK2 delivers 200W through an all-in-one design with a built-in subwoofer, making it an option for viewers who prefer a compact setup.
The Cinema SB550MK2 steps up to 360W and includes a separate wireless subwoofer for a more powerful cinematic experience.
Both also feature JBL’s proprietary SurroundPlay technology, which lets users wirelessly connect a pair of compatible JBL portable speakers and use them as rear surround channels. At launch, the compatible model is the JBL Flip 7.
That gives viewers a way to expand their soundbar setup into true surround sound at the touch of a button.
Tune 3 and Wave 3: Choose Your Fit and Features
JBL’s latest true wireless earbuds offer several choices across the Tune 3 and Wave 3 families, with differences in fit and noise-control features.
The Tune Beam 3, Tune Buds 3 and Tune Flex 3 combine JBL Pure Bass Sound, immersive spatial audio and adaptive noise cancelling. Six built-in microphones with advanced beamforming technology are designed to keep calls clear and natural, while the JBL Headphones app lets users customize their sound.
The range offers up to 48 hours of total playback, covering music, calls, work and entertainment.
For fit, the Tune Beam 3 and Tune Buds 3 provide a more sealed in-ear experience. The Tune Flex 3 lets users switch between open and sealing ear tips, depending on their preference and how connected they want to remain to their surroundings.
The Wave Beam 3, Wave Buds 3 and Wave Flex 3 bring JBL Deep Bass Sound, clear calls, easy connectivity and up to 40 hours of total playback to lightweight designs intended for daily use.
Here, the noise-control distinction is worth paying attention to. The Wave Beam 3 and Wave Buds 3 feature Active Noise Cancelling with Smart Ambient. The open-style Wave Flex 3 uses Active Noise Reduction with Smart Ambient, offering a listening experience that keeps users connected to their surroundings.
With both families, choosing a model comes down to the fit you prefer and the features you want for your daily routine.
Quantum 120 and Quantum 520: Ready for the Next Match
For gamers, JBL introduces the Quantum 120 and Quantum 520, combining immersive audio with clearer team communication.
Both feature JBL Quantum Spatial Sound and customizable audio through JBL QuantumENGINE, allowing players to fine-tune their setup for different games. A detachable 6mm cardioid boom microphone keeps voices clear and focused for those crucial callouts.
The wired Quantum 120 offers easy connectivity across multiple platforms. The wireless Quantum 520 provides flexible connectivity and up to 37 hours of playback.
New colorways also give players more choice in how their headsets fit the rest of their gaming setup.
JBL’s Sound Amplified lineup gives listeners plenty of reasons to look beyond their current audio setup. The Pulse 6 can bring music and mood lighting to the bedside, Cove can carry a playlist through the house, and the PartyBox Ultimate 2 can put karaoke at the center of the next celebration.
