Star Cinema begins the new year with a huge milestone as it distributes its first foreign movie Chinese Zodiac, which stars Jackie Chan.
Reported to be Chan’s last major action movie (although the actor clarified that he will still be working on films), Chinese Zodiac recently made headlines being the highest grossing film ever in China, earning $34.6 million in just four days. And through the efforts of Star Cinema, Filipino moviegoers will get to see Chinese Zodiac ahead of the film’s US release which is slated on the first or second quarter of 2013.
Chinese Zodiac is a highly budgeted action-comedy-adventure masterpiece shot in eight countries. It tells the story of an adventurer and treasure hunter named JC (Chan) who travels the world to search for and retrieve all the stolen bronze heads of the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac.
The movie also stars Oliver Platt, Laura Weissbecker, Liao Fan, Yao Xing Tong, Zhang Lan Xin, and Korean heartthrob Kwon Sang-woo, who was well-loved by Filipinos through the hit Koreanovela Stairway to Heaven.
Chinese Zodiac opens in cinemas on January 30.
