Warner TV’s highly rated shows like Arrow, The Big Bang Theory and Lethal Weapon, bring Turner’s regional entertainment network in the big leagues.
Warner TV finished Q4 2016 as the no. 2 English GE channel among Cable 2+ in Metro Manila and tagged as the fastest growing English channel in the country.
The success is highly associated with what the network considers as their top performing shows. “We couldn’t be happier that Warner TV had such a spectacular performance ratings last year. Our DC superhero shows, as well as series like The Big Bang Theory and Lethal Weapon, complemented by a raft of Hollywood blockbuster movies, seems to be really delivering for us,” Marianne Lee, content head for Warner TV said.
“We know how much the local audiences love our DC content and it makes us incredibly proud to be able to offer so much of it to the Philippines on the same day as the US.” Aside from exciting series that are aired same day as the US, the network has also been indulged because of its movie franchises like Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings.
According to ratings provider GfK, Warner TV also finished Q4 2016 as the No. 1 English GE channel among Pay TV 4+ in Singapore and was also the fastest growing English GE channel in Metro Manila with a whopping 131% increase in ratings in Q4 of last year.
Popular shows on Warner TV include comedy realities like The Carbonaro Effect and Impractical Jokers, as well as, drama and comedy series such as The Last Ship, The Big Bang Theory and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Meanwhile Turner’s portfolio of kids’ networks – Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Toonami – are also enjoying their spot as number one. With Turner’s own truTV evenexperiencing a great growth story last year with World’s Dumbest resulting in the channel being in the No. 1 position.
