LG Opens Pasig Training Center for the People Who Keep Building ACs Running

An air-conditioning system has to do more than cool a room when it serves a hotel, hospital or an entire commercial building. Its performance depends on decisions made well before it is switched on, followed by proper installation, testing and maintenance throughout its working life.

That technical work is the focus of LG Electronics Philippines’ new HVAC Academy and Business Innovation Center at Silver City in Pasig. Opened on October 9, the facility combines hands-on training in heating, ventilation and air conditioning with spaces where businesses can explore LG’s commercial technologies and discuss how these could fit their operations.

For engineers, contractors and facilities teams, the Academy offers opportunities to study equipment and work through the processes involved in keeping systems running. Alongside it, the Business Innovation Center brings together cooling, displays, IT and commercial laundry solutions in practical business settings.

“The opening of the HVAC Academy and Business Innovation Center is about bringing technology and expertise closer to the people who use them every day,” said Nakhyun Seong, Managing Director, LG Electronics Philippines, Inc. “We want this to be a space where our customers and partners can learn, ask questions, experience solutions firsthand, and build the technical knowledge they need for their own projects and businesses.”

From system design to troubleshooting

The HVAC Academy is designed for professionals involved at different stages of a building project, including consultants, specifying engineers, architects, mechanical contractors, commissioning technicians, facilities managers and maintenance engineers. It will also support LG’s B2B sales and technical teams.

Training covers engineering design and software simulation, HVAC products and core systems, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, smart building controls and cloud management. Together, these areas follow the equipment’s lifecycle from initial planning through operation, diagnostics and maintenance.

The Academy includes learning opportunities involving variable refrigerant flow, or VRF, systems, heat pumps, chillers and smart controls, along with tools for HVAC design and diagnostics.

Energy efficiency is another focus, with demonstrations covering high-efficiency equipment, centralized controls and smart energy management. The intention is to help professionals understand how those technologies can contribute to building performance when properly designed, installed and operated.

“HVAC today involves much more than selecting equipment. Good outcomes depend on proper system design, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance,” Seong said. “Through the Academy, we hope to create more opportunities for industry professionals to strengthen those practical skills and understand how the technologies work in real-world environments.”

LG also sees a role for the Academy in addressing the requirements of AI data centers, semiconductor facilities, healthcare and cleanroom environments, premium commercial properties and hotels. Smart and net-zero building projects are among its intended areas of application.

A showroom organized around business use

The adjoining Business Innovation Center gives customers and industry partners a closer look at LG technologies across several commercial applications.

Its Information Display area includes the LG Kiosk, LG MAGNIT, LG Hotel TVs, LG CreateBoard and an LED Wall. The displays demonstrate applications in education, hospitality, workplaces and customer-facing spaces, where requirements can range from sharing information to supporting meetings and classroom discussions.

Commercial laundry is also represented through equipment including the LG Titan Max. This part of the center allows visitors to explore laundry solutions for business operations, as well as potential ventures for entrepreneurs.

An IT area rounds out the facility, showing applications for professional and connected work environments.

Having these technologies in one venue gives customers a place to examine products and discuss their requirements directly with LG teams. For businesses considering equipment purchases, those conversations can help clarify how a solution would fit into their existing spaces and operations.

A venue for continuing technical work

The opening included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and blessing, followed by a guided tour of the showroom and training areas. The facility’s longer-term role, however, will be in the learning sessions, demonstrations and project discussions that follow.

LG intends the Pasig center to support continuing technical education and closer work with customers and industry partners as their requirements change. By placing training alongside product demonstrations, it gives the people specifying, installing and maintaining the equipment a shared venue to work through the details.
