GET UP AND GET TOGETHER WITH THE #SOGOOD KFC BREAKFAST BUFFET

Its a good thing that KFC Congressional is just a five minute drive from our house, so you could say my family have become regular dine in and delivery customers, (with my nephew Calvin dropping by at least twice a week) especially during rainy days.

But I honestly haven’t heard of their Breakfast Buffet until my friend from Ogilvy Lhen Hasal personally delivered a pajama set and told me about KFCs latest campaign.

“KFC Philippines, a firm supporter of enjoying breakfast with the family, re-introduces its hearty selection of the KFC a.m. meals which is meant to be savored during the weekend. Delicious, generous and freshly-made, the KFC a.m. meals are meant to bring together Filipino families every weekend for a delightful serving of comfort food while enjoying the company of your loved ones.”

Call me “mababaw”  but I was really excited about my new pajamas since the last time I wore a pair was in grade two and stopped when my mom got tired of stitching the pants everytime I wore them.

So, to thank @lhenners for her effort I decided to wear the pajama set (complete with slippers) when I went to KFC last Saturday morning— and immediately blended in with the weekend crew.

My costume turned out to  be the uniform of the crew the only difference was I was wearing red slippers 😀

The KFC breakfast buffet starts at 7:30am, so as not to appear overly eager, we went there at around 8:30 and the place was already packed. There was already a long line at the buffet table and there were no more tables.

Good thing my “costume” caught the attention of the crew and immediately brought up a table especially for us!

The queue took around 30 minutes, because everyone was waiting for the arrozcaldo and pancake refills, good thing everybody seemed to be in a good mood and was waiting quietly in line, with very minor complaints.

Priced at P199, the buffet choices included plain and garlic rice, longganisa, tocino, scrambled egg, chicken fillet, arrozcaldo and mini pancakes. You can add P30 for unli drinks which include orange and apple juice, coffee and hot chocolate. Not bad.

It was a satisfying breakfast and I think I’ve had enough tocino for the rest of the year. Must try are their pancakes and arrozcaldo, as those were the ones who always got emptied first.

It was clear that the KFC staff were adjusting to the new concept since it was only the first day, and they decided to stop accepting guests at 9:30. and I have to commend the management (and the kitchen) for being able to make the adjustments, I think everyone left happy– and very full.

My advice, if you are planning to try out the KFC breakfast buffet is to bring your entire family and be there by 7:30.

The breakfast buffet starts 7:30am to 10:00 am on all weekends of July at participating KFC branches: Eastwood, Congressional, Jupiter, St. Joseph (near St. Luke’s E. Rodriguez, Quezon City), EDSA Central, Vito Cruz, Tagaytay and San Pablo Town Plaza, Laguna.
