Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, welcomed the third batch of Filipino students from the Philippines participating in Huawei’s Seeds for the Future Program this 2018.
Huawei’s Seeds for the Future Program aims to bridge the gap between what is learned in ICT education and what is necessary in the industry. The program aims to prepare the the students’—our future resource, to be more competitive in the digital age. It seeks to develop local talent, transfer knowledge, promote a greater understanding of, and interest in, the telecommunications sector and encourage regional building and participation.
A welcome ceremony was held in Beijing to formally open the training program. According to Mr. Daniel Guo Zhi, he is very happy to see many young talented students participating in Huawei Seeds for the Future Program. For 2018, a total of ten (10) students coming from the top Universities in the Philippines participated in the program namely, Ateneo De Manila University, De la Salle University,Mapua University University of San Carlos Cebu City and University of Southeastern Philippines-Davao.
According to Mr. Daniel Guo Zhi , Vice President and COO of Huawei Philippines , The Seeds for the Future Program will expose the students to the best and latest technologies in Huawei and allow them to train under the experts in Huawei Headquarters in Shenzhen.
First Secretary Ivan Frank Olea of Philippine Embassy in China was the special guest of honor during the opening ceremony and he delivered the welcome speech. According to First Secretary Ivan Frank Olea, the Philippine Embassy is glad with the program that HUAWEI is implementing –preparing the youth to hone their ICT skills and knowledge and preparing them for their future careers in the ICT industry.
The day ended with a dinner and cultural show prepared by Huawei to commemorate the event and welcome the students to Beijing.
