Huawei announced the latest addition to its Matebook series of portable, all-round productivity machines the Matebook D14 and Matebook 13.
Designed for users who favor the style and mobility of a lightweight frame without sacrificing the power to get things done in a flash. Huawei’s MateBook Series are shining examples of such a philosophy, with every design decision embodying the modern sensibilities of today’s tech-savvy workforce.
There’s a MateBook for every type of user, depending on what tasks they prioritize above the rest. As the slimmest and most compact of the three new MateBooks, the Huawei MateBook 13 excels at mobility, befitting young professionals and agile corporate types alike. Such compactness doesn’t hamper it’s functionality, however, boasting slim-bezeled 2K FullView Display with massive screen-to-body ratio, as well as a 10th generation Intel Core processor + Nvidia GeForce MX250 graphics chip for that extra visual processing oomph. The MateBook 13’s display also has touch functionality, providing the greatest versatility out of the lineup.
For intensive schoolwork and casual content creation, the MateBook D14 provides a compelling argument — 14-inch FullView Display, AMD Ryzen 7 processor option with up to 16GB RAM expandability, and the Shark Fin 2.0 fan technology that maintains optimal airflow especially during heavy processing activity. These features are must-haves for students, aspiring bloggers, vloggers and gamers to kickstart their career paths.
Last but certainly not least, the MateBook D15 offers the biggest screen real estate at 15.6 inches of glorious IPS immersion, bolstered by the Radeon Vega 8 graphics chip underneath. The AMD Ryzen 5 processor ensures reliable performance all round which, along with the extra inch of screen space, makes spreadsheet crunching or web design tasks that much easier.
Unique features: Huawei Share, Fingerprint Login and Recessed Camera
However, the outstanding advantage that MateBooks hold over the competition is the Huawei Share feature. Share is an NFC-based wireless connection that synergizes the laptop with an NFC-capable Huawei smartphone. Simply placing the phone on the laptop lets users drag-and-drop files between devices, and even lets them access the smartphone screen from the laptop to manipulate apps, etc. Additionally, all MateBooks offer biometric security via the power button/fingerprint scanner that turns on the laptop and logs in the user with one press. Another unique MateBook feature is the recessed camera (D14 and D15) placed on the keyboard, which opens and closes access by pressing the dedicated key.
