Have you TIK TOK’ed YET? The Hottest short video app introduces a new feature!

Its probably one of the most persistent ads I’ve been seeing on my social media feeds lately so  out of curiosity and because the girl–i mean lady was cute I decide to click it.

And now I can’t get Nancy out of my mind (because of the dance steps!) And a lot more stuff which I cannot unsee.

Its one of those apps that’ll make you say WTF?!?  at first, unless you belong to the younger age group which totally gets it.

I am of course talking about TikTok–the trendy short-video platform that’s been  dominating APP downloads on both iOS and Android this year. The Chinese mini-music-video social network  known as Douyin in China  was the most downloaded iOS app in the first quarter of 2018, according to a new report from US research firm Sensor Tower. Douyin, which means “shaking music” in Chinese, is known outside China as Tik Tok.

The app, developed by Beijing-based tech unicorn Bytedance, took over the top spot from Facebook’s WhatsApp, with more than 45 million downloads worldwide during the three-month period.

Launched in September 2016, TikTok lets users create and share up to 15 seconds of musical selfies with various effects from looping to shivering to 3D stickers.

Reminds you of Musical.ly? Yes? Because Musical.ly, was acquired by Bytedance last year.

So its no surprise that a lot of  Pinoys are also hooked on the The TikTok fever, and you’ll probably recognize many online celebrities posting their videos on the app especially with the latest DUET feature.

The new feature enables users to have a duet not only with their family, friends, and followers but also with their favorite stars. The “duet” feature allows users to create split-screen videos by responding to another’s creation—or their own video.

The “#duetwithme” challenge was introduced in the Philippines in the last week of April 2018. Since its launch, over 35,000Filipino users have used the feature, recording over 9 million views.

Filipino Tik Tok influencers enjoyed the app’s Duet feature and posted their creations on their other social media platforms.

Top Filipino online influencers Pamela Swing and Baninay Bautista posted entertaining 15-second videos that their fans can dance or act along with in the “#duetwithme” challenge.

Here are the links to their videos as posted on their Instagram account:

Since it was launched in 2016, Tik Tok has become a phenomenon across Asia. It became an instant hit in various markets including Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia.

The go-to international short-video platform boasts of special effects powered by AI technology, where users can easily shoot and edit video clips.

Aside from the Duet challenge, Tik Tok has trended other features like the GAGA Dance challenge, hair coloring filter, and adorable 3D stickers and props that allow users to express themselves in the most creative and interactive ways possible. ###

Though I don’t think I’ll be posting any of my videos soon, its definitely worth checking out Download Tik Tok now: http://m.onelink.me/77e54e3b
