If you ever doubted your dad’s advice…here is one movie that would never make you think twice.
To quote one early review…
“His eyes and tongue are plucked from his skull and gobbled fresh, his skin is flayed and smoked and savored. It’s a dreadful scene, and a magnificent one, one that reminds us that while Roth may not be able to make a conversation between two girls on a sidewalk in New York look natural, he is an outright genius at shooting gore.”
Green Inferno is the story of an idealistic group of student activists travel from New York City to the Amazon to save a vanishing native tribe, but their small plane crashes in the jungle. They are then, ironically, taken hostage by the very natives they want to protect.
The cannibal adventure horror-thriller film is directed by Eli Roth (Hostel and Cabin Fever) and co-written with Guillermo Amoedo. The film stars Lorenza Izzo, Ariel Levy, Sky Ferreira and Daryl Sabara. The film was inspired by Italian cannibal films of the late 1970s and early 80s, including Cannibal Holocaust, which features a film-within-a-film titled The Green Inferno.
THE GREEN INFERNO, opens in cinemas worldwide September 25, locally distributed by Solar Pictures.
