As part of its 17th anniversary celebration, Gabay Guro introduced a new program pillar focused on promoting the holistic well-being of educators through its partnership with mWell.

To launch this initiative, the country’s first Health and Wellness Festival for Teachers was held on October 6 at the Ynares Sports Complex in Pasig City, offering a range of activities and resources designed to support both the mental and physical health of teachers.
The event, which took place on October 6 at the Ynares Sports Complex in Pasig City, officially launched Gabay Guro’s new program pillar aimed at supporting educators’ holistic well-being.

As vital figures in shaping the nation’s future, teachers often face immense pressures that can impact their physical and mental health. Recognizing this, the Wellness Festival was designed to provide educators with resources to improve their overall well-being, ensuring that they are equipped to inspire and educate the next generation.

Holistic Teacher Support at the Heart of the Wellness Festival
The festival, held in collaboration with mWell, offered teachers free health consultations, fitness sessions, and wellness workshops. These activities emphasized the importance of preventive care and provided educators with access to holistic health solutions through mWell’s digital platform.
Beyond medical consultations, the event featured expert-led discussions on mental health, stress management, nutrition, and self-care, areas critical for educators who often neglect their own well-being due to the demands of their profession.

The event also showcased interactive booths focusing on fitness, nutrition, wearable wellness technology, and telemedicine, empowering teachers to prioritize their health.
“Our teachers play a crucial role in shaping the future of our nation. And they must be at their best for our youth,” said Chaye Cabal-Revilla, Chairperson of Gabay Guro and Chief Finance, Risk, and Sustainability Officer of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC).

“Gabay Guro’s Wellness Fest is a vital first step in ensuring our teachers’ health and well-being is taken care of. mWell makes sure that our teachers get access to a holistic wellness program—from doctor consultations to food and nutrition and preventive health solutions.”
Powering Digital Wellness
At the heart of this initiative was mWell, the country’s health and wellness mega app, which provided educators with access to virtual consultations, fitness tools, and telemedicine services. mWell’s platform also included features like the mWellness Score, which tracked daily activity such as exercise and sleep, and the Mind Health Score, a scientifically backed index that offered insights into mental health.

Through innovations like mWellness wearables, designed to monitor overall health, teachers were empowered to take charge of their well-being with just a few taps on their mobile phones. This event showcased how technology could bridge the gap between wellness and education, providing accessible healthcare for all.
Day of Wellness and Entertainment

In addition to health-focused activities, the festival treated attendees to entertainment, featuring celebrity guests such as Kevin Montellano, Teacher Georcelle and the G-Force, and volunteer athletes from Gabay Guro, including members of the PLDT High Speed Hitters and the Meralco Bolts. A special Zumba session led by the TML Crew also energized the crowd.
The event was supported by wellness brands and organizations such as Awaken Fitness Center, Inna Circle, Physiare Physical Therapy Center, and various sponsors including 555 Tuna, PLDT Home, and UnionBank.Entrance to the event was free for teachers, who were required to register through the Gabay Guro Super App.
With this initiative, Gabay Guro reaffirmed its commitment to supporting teachers, not only in their professional development but in their overall health and well-being.For more information about upcoming Gabay Guro events, educators were encouraged to visit the official website or follow the organization on social media.
