This year, Gabay Guro is going beyond its usual tradition of giving away over one million pesos in cash prizes and a brand-new car—it’s offering something even more valuable: the gift of wellness.
For the first time in its history, Gabay Guro will hold back-to-back tribute events, not only honoring the incredible work of Filipino teachers but also supporting their health and well-being through its newest initiative, the Health and Wellness pillar.
As part of the celebration of National Teachers’ Month and World Teachers’ Day, Gabay Guro, in cooperation with the Department of Education (DepEd) and with the generous support of steadfast partners—Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), PLDT Inc. (PLDT), mWell through Metro Pacific Investments Foundation (MPIF), and PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF)—is proud to host its annual Grand Gathering on September 29, 2024 (Sunday) at the Meralco Theater in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
With the theme “Teachers Inspiring Change, Building the Country’s Future,” the Grand Gathering will feature a star-studded tribute with performances by A-list entertainers such as Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Pops Fernandez, Martin Nievera, Gabby Concepcion, Randy Santiago, Jed Madela, Jona, Kuh Ledesma, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Mark Bautista, and Megastar Ms. Sharon Cuneta.
Alongside these performances, teachers will have the chance to win exciting raffle prizes, including over one million pesos in cash and a brand-new car.

Event registration, which qualifies teachers to participate in the raffle, is ongoing through the Gabay Guro Facebook page. Teachers may also reach out to their local DepEd divisions for invitations to the face-to-face event at the Meralco Theater. For those unable to attend in person, the event will be live-streamed on the Gabay Guro Facebook page and YouTube channel, allowing teachers across the country to join in the celebration.
A New Chapter: Gabay Guro’s First Wellness FestivalAs part of Gabay Guro’s commitment to holistic teacher support, the celebration doesn’t stop at the Grand Gathering. On October 6, 2024 (Sunday), Gabay Guro will launch its first-ever Gabay Guro Wellness Fest, which will be held at the Ynares Sports Arena on Shaw Boulevard, Pasig City.
This event marks the beginning of Gabay Guro’s Health and Wellness pillar, staged in partnership with mWell, the country’s first fully integrated, fully digital health and wellness platform.
The Gabay Guro Wellness Fest promises to be a day filled with fun, education, and wellness experiences designed to support teachers’ physical and mental well-being. The event will include experiential booths and activities focusing on fitness, nutrition, mind health, and telemedicine. Teachers will also have access to wellness services and expert-led sessions on topics such as food and nutrition, wearables, fitness, and mental health.
The festival will be headlined by renowned wellness experts, athletes, and celebrities, with a special Zumba session led by the popular YouTube group TML Crew to kickstart teachers’ fitness journeys.The Wellness Fest is supported by partners like Lifestyle Medical Manila, Awaken Fitness Center, ROX, SVMore Pharma, Mental Health Hour Manila, Physiare, Adcura Labs, Vision Express, Diagnostics Plus, DLSMC, and more. Entrance to the event is free, but teachers are encouraged to pre-register via their local DepEd divisions.
Teachers who cannot attend the face-to-face Wellness Fest will still be able to participate through live streaming on the Gabay Guro Facebook page and YouTube channel.
Gabay Guro: 17 Years of Uplifting Filipino Teachers
Now on its 17th year, Gabay Guro continues its mission to empower Filipino teachers across the country. As the flagship education program of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), Metro Pacific Investments Foundation (MPIF), and PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF) in partnership with the PLDT Managers’ Club Inc., Gabay Guro remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting the Department of Education’s (DepEd) goals to enhance the quality of education in the Philippines.
Since its inception in 2007, Gabay Guro has empowered teachers through its 8 Key Pillars of Learning, all aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), particularly UN SDG #4, which focuses on ensuring quality education for all.
The pillars include:
1. Scholarships – Supporting over 3,000 scholars pursuing degrees in education.
2. Connectivity and Computerization – Providing more than 1,000 laptops, digital accessories, and broadband connectivity to 70 partner schools in 29 municipalities.
3. Classroom Donations – Donating 59 double classrooms to 22 beneficiary cities and municipalities.
4. Teachers’ Training – Training over 50,000 teachers through face-to-face seminars in almost 100 localities nationwide.
5. Livelihood – Offering access to livelihood and entrepreneurship initiatives for more than 5,000 teachers and their families.
6. Digital Innovations – Launching the Gabay Guro Super App, downloaded by over 140,000 teachers nationwide, to make teaching and learning more accessible.
7. Teachers’ Tribute – Hosting annual Grand Gatherings and Regional Teacherfests to celebrate teachers.
8. Health and Wellness – Introducing the newest pillar to support teachers’ well-being through holistic health and wellness programs, in partnership with mWell.
