All roads lead to the SMX Convention Center today for the largest annual gathering of online gamers that is e-Game’s Domination.
Thousands of Ranatics, Cabalists, Audistas, OP7 soldiers, and ZX’ers from all over the country are expected to attend the biggest single-day gaming event since 2008. Domination II previously held an attendance record of more than 15,000, which was surpassed by Domination 3’s more than 21,000 registered participants.
Now on its fourth year, e-Gamers can expect more thrills and surprises with a distinct Filipino Festive and Carnival environment. Gil Edeza, chief operating officer of IP e-Games says that this year’s Domination will be entirely different not only because of the fiesta theme but because of the offline events and activities they have prepared.
“Domination IV will be the venue for the most exciting online game tournaments, and the hottest musical and celebrity performances,” Edeza adds.
More than 300 top-of-the-line PCs will be on hand with dedicated gaming areas for each e-Games title, such as RAN Online, CABAL Online, Runes of Magic, Granado Espada and Dragonica. X-Play, the casual games division of IP e-Games, will also have individual gaming areas for Audition Dance Battle, OP7 and Band Master. Each gaming area will have its own online game tournaments with hundreds of thousands of pesos in cash prizes and in-game items to be given away.
Domination IV will also be the launch pad for the commercial release of Dragonica and Band Master.
Dragonica is IP e-Games’ newest online adventure game. With Role-Playing Game (RPG) elements and an eight-way, side-scrolling system in full 3D, Dragonica’s offers fun and intuitive gameplay elements that will satisfy both novice and hardcore gamers.
Hoping to inject the social networking element to rhythm games, X-Play finally launches Band Master—a game that really got my attention when they unveiled it during the Road to Domination. Developed by Yedang Online, Band Master’s gameplay is similar to popular music band games wherein gamers will get to play in a concert-like atmosphere. However, Band Master presents a brand new concept in online games where players can play up to six different instruments with other players. Band Master also hopes to incorporate a unique social networking opportunity by allowing gamers to form actual garage or indie band setups through better online community integration.
George Royeca, chief operating officer for X-Play, says that Domination IV will be an awesome day for casual gamers. “We’ve prepared a whole day of incredible activities for our Audition players, OP7 gamers, and our new Band Master fans. What’s even more exciting is that gamers will get to sample the first online videoke in the country that will surely be a huge hit not only at Domination IV.”
Besides offline and online activities, e-Games will also be hosting the hottest musical performances from the most popular bands in the country. Parokya ni Edgar, Rico Blanco, Urbandub, Sugarfree, General Luna, teen singing sensation group Pop Girls, and more are slated to perform at Domination IV.
Ed Pasion, IP e-Games vice president for Marketing says that Domination IV will be biggest gaming event yet for the company. “We see Domination IV as the definitive gaming event of the year. It’ll be unique in so many ways. We are going to make Domination IV truly special for our dedicated gaming community.”
