ASUS Unveils ExpertBook Ultra, a Sub-1kg AI Business Laptop Built for the Modern Executive

As artificial intelligence becomes an integral part of the modern workplace, ASUS is raising the bar for business computing with the Philippine launch of the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra, a premium Copilot+ PC designed to combine workstation-class performance with exceptional portability.

The flagship business laptop made its local debut during a launch event at Okada Manila, attended by more than 1,200 enterprise partners, industry leaders, and technology decision-makers. The event also marked the first Philippine visit of ASUS Co-CEO Samson Hu, who was joined by ASUS Vice President and APAC Commercial General Manager Rex Lee and ASUS Business Philippines Business Development Manager Francis Avila.

During his keynote, Hu shared ASUS’ ambition of making the Expert Series the country’s leading commercial PC brand by 2028, revealing that ASUS’ commercial business in the Philippines has grown by 85 percent and now contributes 27 percent of the company’s local business.

Built around Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC platform, the ExpertBook Ultra is engineered to handle increasingly AI-driven workflows through a dedicated 50 TOPS Neural Processing Unit (NPU) and up to 180 TOPS of total AI computing performance. By processing AI workloads locally instead of relying on the cloud, the laptop promises faster response times, enhanced privacy, and lower dependence on internet connectivity for compatible AI applications.

Despite weighing just 0.99kg and measuring only 10.9mm thin, ASUS says the ExpertBook Ultra is the world’s smallest-footprint 14-inch business laptop. Its aerospace-grade AZ31B magnesium-aluminum chassis is protected by a 9H Nano Ceramic coating that offers significantly improved scratch and wear resistance while maintaining a premium finish suitable for everyday executive use.

Performance is powered by up to an Intel Core Ultra X9 Series 3 processor, paired with Intel Arc integrated graphics, up to 64GB LPDDR5X 9600MT/s memory, and a PCIe Gen 5 SSD. ASUS’ ExpertCool Pro thermal system allows the processor to sustain up to 50W of performance without significant throttling, enabling demanding multitasking while keeping fan noise to a minimum.

The laptop also features a 14-inch 3K Tandem OLED touchscreen with a variable 30Hz to 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1,400 nits HDR brightness, Gorilla Glass Matte protection, and a dual-layer OLED panel designed to reduce power consumption while extending display lifespan. A six-speaker Dolby Atmos sound system complements the display for immersive multimedia and video conferencing.

For productivity, ASUS equips the ExpertBook Ultra with a glass haptic touchpad featuring customizable gesture controls for volume and brightness, a spill-resistant keyboard with 1.5mm key travel, dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, USB-A ports on both sides, HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and a 70Wh battery rated for up to 26 hours of battery life.

On the software side, the laptop includes ASUS’ subscription-free MyExpert AI suite, featuring AI ExpertMeet for intelligent online collaboration and Knowledge Hub, which allows users to organize and search company information locally using AI. Security is equally enterprise-focused, with NIST SP 800-193 compliance, a self-healing BIOS, fingerprint authentication, infrared facial recognition, and a physical webcam privacy shutter.

Intel also highlighted the collaboration, noting that the platform’s 50 TOPS NPU enables demanding AI workloads to run efficiently on-device, supporting real-time AI applications while keeping sensitive business data local.

Prior to its official unveiling, ASUS gave several Filipino business leaders three weeks to use the ExpertBook Ultra in their daily work. Among them were Lito Villanueva, Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation & Inclusion Officer of RCBC; Jacqueline Gutierrez; and Dindo Marzan, Senior Vice President and Head of SME Business Group at Converge ICT. Their feedback centered on the laptop’s AI capabilities, portability, and ability to keep pace with demanding executive workloads.

The launch also featured a panel discussion with Gabbi Garcia, veteran broadcast journalist Rico Hizon, Villanueva, and Marzan, who discussed how AI PCs are reshaping productivity across different industries. The evening was hosted by content creator and voice artist Inka Magnaye and attended by personalities including Chinkee Tan, Reymond Delos Reyes, and Rossel Taberna.

ASUS likewise announced that Gabbi Garcia and Rico Hizon will front the local campaign for the ExpertBook Ultra, reflecting the company’s goal of appealing to professionals across industries—from entrepreneurs and content creators to corporate executives and business leaders.

The ASUS ExpertBook Ultra (B9406CAA) is now available in the Philippines starting at ₱129,995. Customers who purchase the laptop until July 31, 2026 will receive an ASUS 100W GaN charger and ₱10,000 worth of SSI gift vouchers as part of ASUS Business Philippines’ early bird promotion.
