Last year, Eng Bee Tin made history by hosting the very first National Hopia Day—a sweet celebration of Filipino-Chinese heritage that brought thousands of hopia lovers to the Mall of Asia Music Hall. What began as a tribute to a humble mung bean pastry quickly turned into a full-blown cultural moment, complete with games, performances, and even a chance to win a lifetime supply of hopia. The debut event wasn’t just a marketing gimmick—it was a heartfelt acknowledgment of how deeply this flaky treat is embedded in Filipino tradition and everyday life.

Fast forward to 2025, and National Hopia Day is back—and bigger than ever. This time, it’s going nationwide.

Celebrating their 113th year, Eng Bee Tin is expanding the festivities across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao for the first time ever.
Throughout the month of July, hopia fans can enjoy generous discounts and special promotions at branches all over the country. Every Monday (July 7, 14, 21, and 28), selected hopia products will be available at 10% off.
But the main event runs from July 18–20, where a 20% discount will be offered nationwide—making it the best time to stock up on your favorites.
And it doesn’t stop there.

Robinsons Galleria Cebu will be hosting Visayas celebrations from July 16–20, while Gaisano Mall Davao brings the hopia party to Mindanao from July 23–27. Expect pop-up booths, cultural performances, family-friendly activities, and the return of the much-awaited Hopia Hakot Challenge—where lucky contestants can grab up to ₱15,000 worth of Eng Bee Tin goodies in one thrilling sweep.

But perhaps the most exciting (and meaningful) part of this year’s celebration is the launch of Hopia Etneb—a ₱20 hopia campaign that brings the snack back to its accessible roots. Inspired by Mayor Isko Moreno’s original suggestion during his first term and now revived with his return to Manila City Hall, Hopia Etneb is Eng Bee Tin’s answer to the call for affordable indulgence amidst inflation and rising food costs.
“This isn’t just about hopia,” said Eng Bee Tin COO Gerik Chua. “It’s about honoring our roots, celebrating our community, and recognizing how food brings us together across generations.”

His sister Roche Chua, Finance Manager, echoed that sentiment: “Every hopia tells a story. Through National Hopia Day, we celebrate culture, comfort, and the delicious flavors of home.”
And as Operations Executive Gerald Chua pointed out, this annual event is also a tribute to the loyal customers who have supported the brand for generations. “They are more than customers—they are family,” he said.
Last year Eng Bee Tin debuted the Hopia Sisig, Hopia Sibuyas, Hopia Kamote–This year they are teasing the launch of even more exclusive hopia flavors during NHD 2025—offering Filipino-inspired twists that fans can only taste during the celebration period.
The Flavors range from surprising– like Pineapple Cake with Salted Egg, and Maja Blanca to shocking–Are you ready for some ChiliMansi Hopia? (yup the pancit canton flavor!)
So, whether you’re a longtime fan of the ube pastillas hopia or someone curious to try the new “secret menu” flavors, now’s the time to hop(ia) in on the fun.

From Manila to Cebu to Davao, National Hopia Day 2025 promises to be a month-long flavor fest of heritage, nostalgia, and joyful unity. Because at the heart of it all, hopia isn’t just a snack—it’s a symbol of who we are and the stories we continue to share.
