The Original Penguin
What happens when the most original menswear brand meets the choice of the new generation? The result is the most exciting fashion collaboration that invites you to #BeAnOriginal while you #LiveForNow. The Original Penguin, the brand favored by the dapper set since 1955, merges heads with global beverage leader and pop-culture heavyweight Pepsi for a monumental capsule collection that celebrates the street, the youth, and sport all in one burst of creativity, color, and absolute style.
Bringing “The Art of Football” alive in thread, The Original Penguin and Pepsi’s “Live for Now” collection brings in the world’s most celebrated street artists to breathe excitement to the ultimate uniform of today’s individualist set, setting the trend for athletic fashion. With 23 specially-developed items up for grabs, including graphic tees, woven short-sleeved shirts, jackets, swimming trunks, and the quintessential Original Penguin collared polo shirt, all in the trademarked Pepsi palette of blue, red, and white, cool just fizzles and pops over the collection’s fashionable statement pieces.
And with Original Penguin’s legacy of style behind them, six of the world’s hottest urban illustrators ran wild with the blank canvas of legendary proportions. With her dewy-eyed, loose-lipped, and oftentimes spotty characters finding their way in classic Original Penguin Fixed Volley swim shorts and button-downs, UK’s definitive doodler Hattie Stewart puts the tongue in cheek to traditional prep dressing. Buenos Aires’s wall-bomber Jaz or Franco Fasoli brings his surreal take on print by mixing folklore with futurism on the Original Penguin classic pocket tee. With his mythical references and fantastical illustrations, Brazilian illustrator Ricardo AKN brings waves of rippling imagination to the Original Penguin’s revered Ratner jacket.

Spanish street artist Zosen Bandido, with his outburst of colors, geometric shapes, and tribal patterns, decks the Original Penguin’s well-loved heritage fit crew neck. Dutch graphic artist Merijn Hos lends his organic scribbles to Original Penguin’s graphic tee; offering an abstractive form of casual dressing. And Argentine graffiti artist and muralist Ever (aka Nicolas Romero) lets his primitive drawings let loose on all-over printed, angle-pocket pique on Original Penguin Earl polo shirts.
Each piece a wearable work of art, the Original Penguin x Pepsi “Live For Now” limited-edition capsule collection shall be viewed in the country’s key lifestyle centers, launching at the Glorietta Activity Center on June 3, and at the Ayala Center Cebu on July 11. Regular exhibitions will follow at the Glorietta Activity Center on June 4, Greenbelt 5 Fashion Walk from June 13 to 15, the 1st level of TriNoma from June 20 to 22, Bonifacio High Street from June 27 to 29, and at the Ayala Center Cebu from July 12-13, where regular mall-goers can have the opportunity to marvel at these modern masterpieces, joining countries like the US, Europe, Mexico, Colombia, and Panama in marking this once-in-a-lifetime fashion event.

Where timeless style meets the street, sport meets pop culture, and art creating history, the Original Penguin x Pepsi “Live for Now” capsule collection celebrates the best things about being young and free in these exciting times. With a refreshingly new view to millennial fashions, Original Penguin and Pepsi certainly make it possible to be an original while keeping true to your generation’s chosen style.
