The year is turning out to be quite exciting for IDP Education Pty Ltd —Philippines. After wrapping up a successful Study Abroad Expo last March of this year, its Manila office started bracing itself for another big thing—the BIG move! The company’s Country Director for the Philippines, Ria Dela Viña recently announced that they are relocating IDP’s Manila headquarters (HQ) from Makati, where they held office for 14 years, to Ortigas Center in Pasig City, this June 2016. It’s also very timely, as IDP Philippines is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
“We have been so excited about this move because it will open us up to a larger market as we become more accessible to northern Metro Manila, while still conveniently located in the Ortigas Business District” says Dela Viña.
Dela Viña expects the growth of the company to continuously accelerate, and says there is no better time to move to a bigger, better space than now. Its new home is two times the size of IDP’s Makati HQ, and provides flexibility for expansion and a convenient, professional setting for meeting and training its students and IELTS test candidates. It has more conducive facilities that help the team respond better to the increasing demands of Filipino students for global education. For example, the 598 sqm. space offers a fully-equipped IELTS Practice Center that may be used for free by IDP-registered IELTS Test candidates five times a week. The office also has its own Training Centre that can accommodate up to 50 people; which can be used for IELTS tests and other in-house activities. Soon, computer-based IELTS tests will be offered on a first come-first served basis. Moving to a larger facility also provides IDP employees a more people-centric workplace to interact with clients and customers.
“Ortigas Center is a great ideal location for us,” says Dela Viña. “We sit within the burgeoning Ortigas Business District and we aim to establish a strong foothold this side of the metro. Our customers and clients from north and south Metro Manila can reach us easily by both public and private transportation. We are surrounded by numerous residential areas, while a number of schools are quite near. I see only great opportunities for IDP here.”
As for the IDP employees, they couldn’t wait to settle in. “I believe this is a very positive development not just for IDP as a company, but also for the whole IDP team,” continues Dela Viña. She says everyone is excited and feels like the move gives them a fresh start. “It’s kind of a reboot, to get everyone excited about the growth of the company.” Part of IDP’s success is the hardworking and dedicated people who make up the IDP team, and a warm and pleasant work environment is something they deserve says Dela Viña.
