For over twelve years, J.CO Donuts and Coffee has sweetened lives across the Philippines with its irresistible donuts and handcrafted coffee, becoming a favorite treat for families and friends alike. Now, as J.CO celebrates its 12th anniversary, it’s taking its signature joy beyond its stores and onto the streets with the first-ever J.CO Run in the Philippines!
The first-ever JCo Run 2024, expected to bring together 6,000 participants on November 10 at the Mall of Asia concert grounds in Pasay City. For this special occasion, JCo is replacing the standard 10K category with a unique 12K race to mark the brand’s anniversary, allowing thousands of dedicated runners to join the special race.
The event, led by internationally acclaimed marathoner and RUNRIO founder Coach Rio Dela Cruz, will feature race categories for a wide range of participants, including a 3K, 5K, and the 12K main event. Due to the incredible interest in the race, all slots sold out within just 15 minutes of registration opening, reflecting the enthusiastic support for the event.
“We decided to put up the 12K as the main event since we’re celebrating our 12th year in the Philippines,” said Jericho Eva, JCo’s Assistant Marketing Manager, at the launch event held on October 22 at JCo’s Glorietta 2 branch in Makati City. “We choose fun runs as one of our main activities because we believe that health is wealth. It’s a meaningful way to give back to our customers and promote a healthier lifestyle.”
Celebrity couple Juancho Triviño and Joyce Pring-Triviño, both running in the 12K race, attended the event launch to share their excitement. Joyce noted the positive influence that running with her husband has had on her well-being, saying, “We find running a stress reliever. Juancho jogs regularly and pushes me to join, and over time, I’ve realized it’s really beneficial for my health.” Juancho expressed gratitude to JCo for organizing the event, highlighting its impact on both regular runners and fitness enthusiasts who want to stay motivated in reaching their health goals.
While this is JCo Run’s inaugural event in the Philippines, it has been an annual occasion in Indonesia since 2016, where JCo originated. Eva expressed optimism about matching Indonesia’s successful event. “Although the number of participants here may be smaller than in Indonesia, I believe we can match or even exceed its organizational success,” he added.
The 12K race course will guide runners along some of Manila’s most iconic routes, including Seaside Boulevard, Diokno Boulevard, and Roxas Boulevard, with the finish line at the Mall of Asia Complex. The event will not only offer a beautiful course for participants but will also celebrate their achievements with special commemorative items.
Every finisher will receive a complimentary donut and beverage, along with exclusive, donut-themed medals designed to mark their participation in JCo’s milestone event. Adding to the excitement, JCo Philippines will open a new branch at SM Mall of Asia on November 8, just two days before the run, welcoming both participants and the general public to enjoy more of JCo’s signature offerings.
This event marks JCo’s ongoing commitment to community, health, and spreading joy through shared experiences, offering participants a unique way to celebrate, stay fit, and indulge in the beloved JCo treats.
