If there’s one thing I remember from watching the movie  American Pie besides the hot exchange student, is how it made the term “MILF” famous.

Now everyone knows that  MILF stands for  “mom I’d like to f**k,” but what exactlly is a SMILF?

StepMom ILF? SexyMom ILF?

Turns out  its actually a new series you can watch on streaming service FOXPlus.

SMILF is an American comedy television series starring, created, written, and directed by Frankie Shaw.

SMILF or  “Single Mom”  -ILF chronicles the struggles of a young woman, Bridgette, who is trying to make it as an actress while working as a tutor to pay the bills and also raising her young son, Larry, with the child’s father, Rafi, with whom she is no longer involved.

It is loosely based on creator Frankie Shaw’s life. She was once a single mother herself, and in an interview with  Variety she said Bridgette is a “fantasy” or “exaggerated” version of herself.

In this post Bridgette shares a list of Things Moms Just Don’t Give a Crap About and Why moms kick ass and don’t care what people think about them

“Moms are tough. Once you have grown a living human being inside you and successfully taken him/her out of your womb and into the world, you know you’re tougher than most (if not all) people. And being a toughie mom, you surely be having your hands full making sure your children are clothed, fed and sheltered while raising them to be productive and compassionate members of society one day and to be burdened by a lot of things that society think I should be burdened with. Well, screw that!

“For society’s reference, here’s a list of things a I, as a mother, don’t give a F*** about.”

  1. What other people think. I’m sorry, I just can’t be bothered.
  1. What other moms think. At the end of the day, this is my child, and I’m the one who have to go home with him/her. Go take care of your own kid.
  1. How many more kids you think I should have? No, I don’t care if you had fun growing up with your seven siblings. Just leave my uterus alone.
  1. If I should have a boy or a girl to go with whatever gender of the kid that I will soon have. Who says every family should have a “complete set”?
  1. What people think of me when my kid is having a tantrum. Feelings are acknowledged in my family. And no, he/she is not going to get away with that kind of behavior, but I’m not going to that here, where you’re watching. Take that side eye somewhere else. I got this!.
  1. That my kids are sometimes dressed like orphans because they have chosen that specific outfit to wear today. Of course, I made suggestions, and yes, they may not always be weather-appropriate, but they’ll have to deal with the consequences of their own choices.
  1. The smells. Moms know about them. They are gross, objectively speaking, but I can’t be bothered anymore. Of course, we sniff these things out and we clean them up, but no more fuss.
  1. An organized house. Clean, yes (for health reasons!). Organized, no. There will be things that will not be in their proper places. And no matter what I do, all the kids need are a few seconds to turn the room upside down again.
  1. That my kids eat fast food. Yes, the goal is to give them the healthy and organic stuff, but making sure they’re fed is higher up on my priority list. When did youstart eating vegetables willingly?
  1. That there will be days when I’m caught looking like I’ve been dragged through several miles of hell. Life does not look like my Instagram feed. Deal with it.
