Smart subscribers join Anne Curtis in journey to ‘AnneKapal

She flew, she jumped, she danced, and she even hung upside down in mid-air while singing her lungs out.
There are really no lengths “Concert Sweetheart” Anne Curtis wouldn’t go to prove her performing mettle, and thankfully her legion of fans were always behind her as she successfully mounted her 2nd solo concert, “AnneKapal: The Forbidden Concert” last May 16.

Subscribers of Philippine mobile leader Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), in particular, were given the chance to show their support, meet the social media superstar up close, and even virtually join Anne on stage as she wowed the audience at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum last Friday.

“We did not sleep at all sa sobrang excitement to meet Anne and she did not disappoint. She’s everything we imagined her to be. Mukha siyang napakagandang doll,” confessed Christian Vinas and James Lanozo right after they met their idol for the first time.

The two, who admitted to being avid fans since Anne’s days in the hit Saturday afternoon youth show TGIS (Thank God It’s Saturday), said the long wait to finally meet their idol face to face was definitely worth it. “Hindi kami makapaniwala that it happened on the same night that we get to watch her concert,” they added.

Diana Lynn Romero, meanwhile, got the surprise of her life when she received news that she won a chance to meet and greet her idol prior to her grand concert Friday.

“I recently applied for a postpaid plan at one of the Smart Stores, and when I found out that I won the meet-and-greet pass and the ticket, I really did all that I can just to be here!” Diana exclaimed.

‘I’m bulletproof’
Anne may be one of the biggest Filipino stars today, but she’s well aware that all of her triumphs are nothing without the love that fans and supporters have thrown her way, despite the many “mistakes” in her past.

In particular segment sponsored by Smart during her concert, the actress-performer was reduced to tears as she sang the song “Titanium” on stage, a song she dedicated to “anyone who had anything to say about me, good or bad.”

“I’ve had my ups and downs, my share of lessons learned and you all kept the faith,” she said, addressing her myriad of fans present during the concert.

“[What matters is] knowing when we’ve committed mistakes and to move on as better persons. So to anyone who ever had anything to say about me, alam nyo na… I am titanium,” said the Smart poster girl.

Anne was particularly thankful to Smart for continuing to trust her with endorsements despite past controversies.
“Smart allows me to be connected despite my busy schedule, so I can tweet my fans and post special moments on Instagram. Thank you so much Smart for giving me this and sticking it out with me too,” she added.

During the concert, Anne’s fans were quite literally behind her as the giant LED screen suddenly turned ‘interactive,’ showing clips of fans who joined Smart’s Instagram contest where they projected, sang, and danced in front of the camera for a chance to watch her one-night performance at The Big Dome.

Before the event started, concert-goers also had the chance to pose for a selfie and sing their hearts out just like Anne at the Smart Bro and Smart Postpaid booths located at the venue lobby.
