When One Piece first set sail in 1997 as a manga by Eiichiro Oda, few could have predicted just how massive its voyage would become. Twenty-six years later, the Straw Hat Pirates have grown beyond ink and animation to become a global cultural phenomenon.
With over 1,000 episodes, 106 volumes of manga, blockbuster films, and even a live-action adaptation, One Piece is no longer just a story—it’s a shared adventure that unites generations of fans.

The series is, at its heart, about dreams, courage, and friendship. Monkey D. Luffy’s unwavering quest to become King of the Pirates has inspired countless readers and viewers worldwide, making the Straw Hats not just characters, but companions in the journeys of millions.

And now, Filipino fans get the chance to relive those adventures up close, as Animezing North: One Piece Adventures drops anchor at SM North EDSA’s The Block Atrium from August 19 to September 4, 2025.

The Grand Line Comes to Life at SM North
In a special collaboration between Toei Animation and SM Supermalls, the beloved anime springs to life through an activation that’s being billed as the biggest official One Piece event in the Philippines.

“This is more than just an exhibit—it’s an invitation to sail alongside the Straw Hats,” said organizers during the launch.
The Block Atrium has been transformed into a thrilling adventure zone inspired by some of the series’ most iconic moments.

Fans can explore interactive areas, strike a pose beside towering 3D statues of all ten Straw Hat Crew members, and marvel at two supersized Gear5 inflatables—a nod to Luffy’s most jaw-dropping transformation yet.
Of course, no pirate adventure is complete without treasures. Attendees can shop exclusive One Piece merchandise from partner brands, making it the perfect chance to score keepsakes worthy of any fan’s collection.
Sailing Beyond North EDSA
The journey doesn’t end in Quezon City. After its run at SM North EDSA, the activation will continue charting its course across Metro Manila:
- SM East Ortigas from September 7 to 22
- SM Marikina from September 25 to October 12

This nationwide rollout ensures that fans from different parts of the metro can experience the magic.
Gear Up for the First-Ever One Piece Run in the Philippines
And if that’s not enough to get your pirate blood pumping, then lace up your running shoes because the adventure is hitting the streets, too. On September 28, 2025, SM Supermalls and Runrio will host the first-ever One Piece Run in the Philippines at SM City Fairview.
The run offers multiple categories—1KM, 3KM, 5KM, and 10KM—making it inclusive for kids, casual runners, and seasoned athletes alike. Registration fees range from ₱1,500 to ₱2,000 depending on distance, and each participant will receive a pirate-worthy loot bag: a themed race bib with timing chip, official singlet, a bandana, a finisher’s medal, and goodies from event sponsors.

Expect to see runners donning straw hats, pirate flags, and maybe even the occasional cosplay along the race route. Much like the anime itself, the event is less about speed and more about the joy of the journey.
A Celebration of Dreams, Adventure, and Friendship
One Piece has always been about chasing dreams despite impossible odds. From the East Blue to the New World, every arc reminds us that the real treasure isn’t gold—it’s the bonds we form and the adventures we share. The One Piece Adventures activation and the One Piece Run are extensions of that message, bringing fans closer to the heart of the story.
“So whether you’re striking a pose beside Zoro’s three swords, shopping for merch with Nami’s savvy, or running a 10K channeling Sanji’s kicks, one thing’s certain: the Grand Line has found its way to Manila.
The Straw Hat flag is flying high at SM Supermalls, and all that’s left is for you to join the crew. The Grand Line awaits.
