Expanding its support for professional volleyball, Rebisco launched its 3rd volleyball team, the Criss Cross King Crunchers, on March 1, 2024, at the Joy~Nostalg Hotel in Ortigas. The team is set to compete for the first time in the 2024 Spikers’ Turf Open and Invitational Conferences starting in March.
Criss Cross is Rebisco’s potato snack brand that comes in creamy cheese, cheesy sour cream and onion, sweet pepper steak, classic potato, and sweet corn flavors.
“Volleyball continues to rise as a sport in the country, not only for women but for men,” said team manager Lizanne Co. “We are excited to introduce the Criss Cross King Crunchers men’s team headed by team captain Ysay Marasigan and coached by Anusom “Tai” Bundit.”
This further extends Rebisco’s coverage of support for volleyball development in the country into men’s professional indoor volleyball. Other company involvement includes grassroots and coaching/skills development through the Rebisco Volleyball League for high school girls and the Rebisco Volleyball Academy; collegiate through the Ateneo Vollayball teams; the professional level through the Creamline Cool Smashers and the Choco Mucho Flying Titans in the PVL; and through the Philippine National teams for men’s and women’s indoor and beach volleyball.
“We expect men’s volleyball to also rise in popularity as seen in the large crowds that watch foreign men’s teams when they visit the country,” Co added. “Our local men’s teams can also be as world-class as any other country’s.”
