Pickleball, Celebrity Rallies, and a ₱399 Family Health Plan from PLDT Home Life and mWell

Getting everyone together for a game can take some convincing. Getting everyone to pay attention to their health? That can be an even tougher invitation.

There’s usually something else to finish, another expense to prioritize, or the familiar “okay naman ako” that ends the conversation. Between work, household responsibilities, and looking after other people, taking care of ourselves can become something we keep rescheduling.

PLDT Home Life and mWell brought that conversation to the pickleball court, gathering celebrities, members of the media, and PLDT Home Fiber customers for an afternoon of friendly competition and a closer look at making healthcare part of everyday family life.

The paddles got people moving. The bigger message was what happens after the game.

Familiar faces, a shared reason to move

Eric “Eruption” Tai, Nicole Cordoves, Cherry Pie Picache, and Nikki Valdez led the celebrity lineup, joined by Carlene Aguilar, Kier Legaspi, Marc Solis, Michael Flores, Maureen Larrazabal, Jeffrey Santos, Ynez Veneracion, John Vic Guzman, and Jojo Abellana.

The gathering supported the brands’ “Make Health Part of Your Plan” advocacy, which brings together physical activity, preventive healthcare, mental well-being, and access to medical professionals.

Pickleball gave the campaign a social starting point: a reason to put down the phone, pick up a paddle, and spend time moving with other people. The partnership’s digital services address another part of the routine—making it easier to ask for medical advice and keep track of the family’s wellness at home.

What ₱399 a month covers

Available to PLDT Home Fiber subscribers, the mWell Family Plan 399 costs ₱399 per month and covers up to four family members.

According to PLDT Home Life and mWell, the subscription includes unlimited on-demand teleconsultations with licensed general practitioners for those enrolled family members. That gives households a way to seek medical advice remotely, reducing the travel and scheduling involved in getting to a clinic.

The plan also includes unlimited access to certified mental health coaches. Mental well-being gets its own place in the package, alongside the physical health services.

“In today’s challenging economic environment, embracing one’s physical and mental well-being is essential for every household. In times like these, we cannot afford to wait for illness to strike before paying attention to our health, and possibly make things worse. That’s why good health has to start at home,” said Evert Chris Miranda, PLDT Home Vice President and Head of Home Digital Services.

“With mWell Family Plan 399, PLDT Home Life continues to round out Filipinos’ lifestyles, bringing proactive wellness straight into the Filipino living room and empowering families with tools that provide total peace of mind without stretching their budgets.”

A family dashboard, wellness trackers, and a watch

Keeping up with the family’s health can involve several people and plenty of scattered updates. The mWell Fam Dashboard provides a central place to monitor, track, and manage the health metrics of up to four family members.

The subscription also includes access to the mWellness Score, which tracks steps, physical activity, inactivity, and sleep quality. Meanwhile, the Mind Health Score helps users monitor emotional well-being and access mental wellness exercises.

A free mWell Prestige Watch is included in the plan. It pairs with the mWell app to help monitor indicators such as heart rate, steps, and sleep quality.

The primary subscriber also receives annual, replenishable ₱20,000 Personal Accident Insurance, as described in the announcement. That benefit applies to the primary subscriber; the consultation and wellness services cover up to four family members.

Together, the tools are intended to help households pay attention to everyday patterns and make seeking advice more convenient. Digital care does not replace emergency hospital services.

Why the family angle matters

When someone at home becomes ill, the impact can extend beyond that person. Appointments need arranging, work schedules change, and someone has to figure out how the household will manage.

“For many Filipino families, one medical emergency can put years of hard-earned savings at risk. Ang kalusugan ang pinakamahalagang puhunan ng bawat pamilya, because our ability to earn a living, care for our loved ones, and build a better future depends on it,” said Chaye Cabal-Revilla, President and CEO of mWell and Chief Finance, Risk, and Sustainability Officer of MPIC.

“Through mWell Family Plan 399 with PLDT Home Life, we are making it easier for families to take care of their health before a crisis happens. By bringing doctor consultations, mind health support, and the mWell Fam Dashboard together in the mWell app, we help families understand how their loved ones are doing, spot changes in their wellness, and seek timely medical advice. Caring for the family’s health should be part of everyday life.”

The partnership aims to make those services more accessible through a monthly subscription for existing PLDT Home Fiber customers.

“Healthcare should be a fundamental right, not an overwhelming financial burden,” stressed Gary Dujali, mWell Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer.

After the last rally

A celebrity pickleball event makes an easy conversation starter. The more useful follow-through is giving families something they can access when the event is over: a doctor to consult, mental health coaching, and a way to keep track of wellness information.

For households considering the plan, those are the benefits to look at closely. The watch is an extra; access to consultations for up to four family members is the part that deserves attention.
