For 16 years, Microsoft Philippines has helped transform the lives of Filipinos and local businesses, providing them with the necessary tools to help them innovate better and become more globally competitive. These tools are not limited to the services and products that Microsoft provides, but also the partnerships the company is able to forge with some of the most recognized organizations in the Philippines and around the world.
With the recent successful string of product launches, Microsoft tapped distribution giant, MSI-ECS, to distribute products such as Windows 8 and Office Full Packaged Product Licenses and Windows Server Original Equipment Manufacturer. MSI-ECS will partner with Microsoft Philippines in reaching hundreds of local PC resellers and retailers. This will enable retailers and consumers to purchase legitimate copies of Microsoft solutions.
MSI-ECS will be distributing Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium, and towards the middle of the year, they will also distribute Office 365 University SKU. This means that more home users, college or university students, faculty and staff will be able to take full advantage of the productivity solutions and benefits of the new Microsoft Office.
“With our excellent distribution network, marked by our comprehensive portfolio, wide reseller network, and long-tested expertise, we will be able to provide more Filipinos with access to Microsoft’s technologies. Through this partnership, we are also delighted that our company is key in providing reseller and consumer protection through the assurance of the official rates and genuine Microsoft solutions that will be sold in the market. We are proud to partner with Microsoft as we bring the exciting Windows 8, Office 2013, Office 365, and Windows Server products to more retailers and businesses nationwide.” said Jimmy Go, CEO and President of MSI-ECS Philippines.
MSI-ECS will also be a key player in influencing preference for Genuine Windows Devices among its reseller network. Moreover, MSI-ECS will be a significant partner in penetrating channels outside Metro Manila.
“Our partnership with MSI-ECS allows our technologies to reach millions more Filipinos around the country, specifically around the Visayas and Mindanao regions. With this partnership, we hope to enable consumers to enhance productivity through our Microsoft technologies,” said Karrie Ilagan, Managing Director of Microsoft Philippines. Ilagan also attributed the company’s ability to combat malware infections through these types of partnerships. She added, “In a study developed by Microsoft’s Security Forensics team, it was determined that 69 percent of illegal copies of Windows and other applications from the Southeast Asia region hold high-risk malware infections. To help Filipino businesses and consumers avoid these malware infections which damage software and hardware at very expensive cost, they should only purchase software through our official distributors.”
