MARKS & SPENCER OPENs ITS NEWEST STORE AT BGC WITH AN EXCITING FASHION COMPETITION


Marks & Spencer’s opened its flagship store in the Philippines at Central Square, the newest Premiere Retail destination in the heart of Bonifacio High Street, Taguig last July 18, 2014. The store featured various fashion lines in Womenswear and Menswear along with Lingerie and Beauty essentials, with an easy to shop format and exciting new fashion displays.

M&S Central Square is  the first ever standalone Food store in the Philippines – located opposite the Menswear floor. In addition to a wide range of food lines, the store also offers a variety of hot and cold coffee and serve freshly baked pastries and cookies that go along well with the premium blended drinks.

Marks & Spencer has celebrated its opening with a collaboration with the SoFa Design Institute, and hosted a style-off competition at the Central Square Atrium on July 18th. Eight creative student stylists from the Sofa Design Institute were tasked with creating key looks from the Marks & Spencer collection based around three sartorial themes: Stylish work wear, Laidback casual weekend and Stylish night out.

Distinguished influencers from the fashion industry, graced the event, models Tweetie De Leon-Gonzales and Apples Aberin, together with renowned designers Randy Ortiz and Hindy Weber Tantoco judged the M&S style-off, and based the winning collection on its theme relevance, runway impact, and creativity & execution. Other celebrity models and bloggers also attended the launch event, Kelly Misa, Patty Laurel, Laureen Uy, David Guison, and Camille Co to name a few. The style-off competition was hosted by Model/Host Sara Meier.

The winner received Php 50,000 worth of cash and M&S Gift Vouchers, whilst the runners up received Php 10,000 worth of M&S Gift Vouchers each.

An official ribbon cutting ceremony and ceremonial toast followed the competition, graced with the presence of the British Ambassador–His Excellency Ambassador Asif Ahmad, Marks & Spencer Philippines’ General Manager Steven Sarmenta, and Marks & Spencer International’s Head of Visual Merchandising Lee-Oliver Morely.

Using the retailer’s latest in store design, Marks & Spencer Central Square has its own distinct look and identity which allows customers to see which brand best meets their personal style preferences. The newest store aims to improve the customer journey through improved navigation, a better store layout and more inspiring in-store customer experiences.

Marks & Central Square is located at the Upper Ground Level and Second Floor of Central Square, 5th Ave. cor. 30th St. Bonifacio High Street Central, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Store Hours are from Sunday to Thursday from 11am-10pm and Friday -Saturday from 11am-11pm.
