“I am motivated because I want to inspire other Filipino women to pursue their passions and achieve their dreams,” the ever elegant Joyce Penas Pilarsky said in a quick interview with this website.

She had just finished meeting with the press to celebrate her win as the very first Filipina to win the Classic Mrs. Asia International Global 2014.

It wasn’t her first beauty title, but for the talented Fashion Designer Pilarsky who won Mrs. Philippines-Germany (2000) and Mrs. WI Philippines (2013), the win still felt like the first time she won a crown.

“It is with great pride to be a beauty queen because I know that beauty queens are springs of honour and dignity of the country. Many Filipinas dream of becoming one. Being a beauty queen gives you the voice to be heard. Whenever you speak, people listen and you are treated with so much respect and admiration,” Pilarsky enthuses.

“As Classic Mrs. Asia International Global 2014, I want prove to the world that if you dream, and you give it to God, dreams do come true. Also, I want people to understand that more the physical beauty, inner beauty is more important than physical attributes; it is the character of the person inside that is most important. All of us are beautiful if you have a beautiful heart, we must make a conscious effort to make a difference in the lives of the people surrounding us, we must make an effort to do well, to make everyone feel good and feel beautiful inside. I just want to spread God’s love in this world.”

According to Pilarsky, the pageant looks for somebody who is beautiful inside-out and how she deals with others. She bested other candidates from seven to 10 Asian countries with her answer in the question-and-answer portion that asked about her stand on plastic surgery: “If necessary, then go ahead. It depends on the person. If you feel it, then go.”

The newly-crowned Classic Mrs. Asia International Global encourages everyone to do the continue achieving your goals even at your prime.

“We don’t stop living at 50. Age is only a number. You have to make yourself beautiful for yourself. It’s important to take care of yourself and not just wait for your death,” she urges.

“Having a good heart and compassion makes you more beautiful. There is truth to the saying that beauty is skin deep. That is why in my clothes, I tap into that, that feeling that makes a woman feel beautiful.”
