HP TARGETS GAMERS IN NEW CONSUMER LINE
Every computer user has their own personal passion, whether it’s work, education, entertainment, social networking or in my case, gaming.
PC manufacturer Hewlett-Packard (HP) recently unveiled a redesigned consumer portfolio that boasts of sleek looks and utilizes the latest technologies to enhance the way consumers connect to the people, entertainment and information that matter to them to pursue and achieve their own personal passions.
“From enjoying music, to playing games, to enabling intuitive touch experiences, the new
range of consumer notebooks and desktops offers style, performance, entertainment and
security features that work together to present a seamless connected experience, said Albert
Mateo, Country General Manager, Personal Systems Group, HP Philippines.
Dubbed “A New HP World” this new lineup of consumer notebooks, desktops and monitors completes the HP computing ecosystem and provide products that will address the needs of even the most avid of gamers.
According to Kathryn Wong, HP Market Development Manager for Consumer Notebooks, the redesigned HP Pavilion notebooks are built on inspirations from culture, art, fashion and HP‘s MUSE (Materials, Usability, Sensory appeal and Experience) design philosophy.
“MUSE includes a mix of materials such as metals, alloys and plastics; easy-to-use features for improved usability; a blend of artisanal elements for sensory appeal; and intuitive features for streamlined experiences,” she explained.
The new HP Pavilion dv series notebook PCs likewise include impressive features such as HP CoolSense
Technology, HP TrueVision HD webcam and HP SimplePass. Select models of the HP Pavilion dv series also feature Beats Audio for a powerful audio experience.
“What this means for gamers,” Wong said, “is that HP has created notebooks that looks good from the outside and performs even better because of its improved features.”
“HP has developed a way to solve heating problems with the new HP CoolSense Technology. By arranging the components in a certain way, HP notebooks now emit less heat.” she explained. CoolSense technology automatically adjusts cooling levels according to a customer‘s personal preferences. “This means you don’t need external cooling fans anymore, as you can even change the speed of the fan depending on the temperature. The new notebooks also have strategically placed vents so that heat is not emitted towards the user.”
Another innovative feature of HP notebooks is the HP simple pass. “We know that gamers go to a lot of websites and use different passwords to keep their accounts secure,” Wong observed. “There lies the problem of having to remember multiple usernames and passwords. But with the HP Simple Pass all they have to do is swipe their fingers to access their accounts making it easy yet very secure.”
HP notebooks also have a hard drive protect feature that detects if your laptop is in motion, bumped or even dropped so it automatically locks the hard drive to protect data.
As for the high-end models such as the HP Envy, HP has partnered with Dr. Dre for the “Beats Audio” to provide the best auditory experience from a computer.
HP also presented a revamped desktop lineup that HP Market Development Manager for Consumer Desktop, Jason Lim, believes is a much better option than investing in cloned PCs.
“One of the major reasons why peopled decide to get clone is because they want to build a “rig” based on their own specifications, so we thought why not build a high end PC but make it affordable for everyone,” Ong stated.
An example would be the High Performance Edition PC (HPE PC) which the company is shipping into the country for the first time. Ong says their new desktop PCs are capable of maximizing the capabilities of the latest Sandy Bridge technology.
Ong also introduced the new HP TouchSmart 610 All-in-one PC, a complete computer which reclines from upright to almost flat, providing increased comfort for longer-term use and the freedom to position the TouchSmart610 Consumer PC on a kitchen counter, or anywhere the family gathers.
It features an Intel Core i3 processor (3M cache, 3.10 GHz); an integrated 23” TFT panel with touch capabilities, 4GB DDR3 Memory, ATI MXM30 Viper 1GB bit graphics card; 500GB 3G SATA hard drive; Double Layer Lightscribe Optical drive; Beats Audio sound; and a wireless keyboard and mouse
