Fortune Forecast in the year of the Fire Rooster Feng Shui Master Marites Allen

Every December, there is one other day that I always look forward to the most besides Christmas Day, and that is my yearly “date” with Feng Shui Master Marites Allen.
I first met Ms. Marites almost five years ago as I was assigned by the the Manila Times to write about her forecast for the coming Chinese New Year. And while I’ve heard and read a lot about her before, I didn’t expect that interview was going to be the start of a friendship and our yearly reunion with her other close friends.
She’d even stop her discussion to call me out whenever she sees me (on the mic at that! and let everyone know that I’m her good friend) and I could only blush and smile in response to such a sweet gesture.
Now lot of people may or may not believe in feng shui but I’m quite sure everyone is curious as to how their animal signs would affect their fortune or at least get some of that good vibes to help them throughout the year.
That’s why the country’s Feng Shui Queen is so in demand, doing TV interviews and going all around the country (and the world) to share her Feng Shui forecast and what people can do to take advantage of a good year or to avoid misfortune should the year be in conflict with their animal sign.
While Ms. Marites isn’t the only Feng Shui expert we have in the country, she is definitely the most popular and trusted by businessmen such as Washington Sycip to celebrities like Boy Abunda, Tessa Prieto and Luis Manzano, just to name a few, and her loyal followers who swear that their lives have improved thanks to Ms. Marites
Her life is also a shining example of how following the Feng Shui can lead to a better life as she rose from humble beginnings to become the globe-trotting, feng shui master that she is today. Balancing work with her growing number of Frigga stores all over the country (which sell books, clothes, fashion accessories and charms to bring luck) and her ever supportive family who is always there with her at her talks and book signing events.
And while I may have missed her Feng Shui convention last month, I was able to catch up with Ms. Marites during her book signing yesterday at the National Bookstore at Trinoma.
She gave me a copy of her forecast for the year of the Fire Rooster to share with you my readers as well as some tips on how to you can make 2017 your best year yet!
2017 Feng Shui Highlights (SOURCE)
• The Year of the Fire Rooster starts on January 28, 2017 and ends on February 15, 2018. Since the first day falls before February 4, there is a “lap chun” or the start of spring—a good sign.
• The Paht Chee or Four Pillars Chart of the year has these elements present: four Metal, two Water, one Fire, and one Wood. There is no Earth element, however.
• The dominant Metal element in the chart bodes well for the finance and banking sectors and indicates both good and bad news for these industries in 2017.
• The second best element, Water, brings positive changes, with technology and innovation dominating our daily activities. Intelligent robots will continue to be used for medical assistance and ironically, in warfare. There will be innovative uses for drone technology as well.
• Fire and Metal represent guns, explosives, and sharp lethal objects. In the chart, Metal is being destroyed by Fire, which indicates strong competition and financial issues that could go both ways—some will make big fortunes, while others will suffer significant losses.
• The Four Pillars chart does not show great relationships between the elements, which suggests that many professionals will be inclined towards shifting careers. Heightened competition and challenges are likewise indicated. The world’s largest economies, including those of the US and the UK, will be at the center of a huge shift. This could result in disoriented families, relocation, job uncertainties, and an overall diminished quality of life.
• On a positive note, the Rooster year has Peach Blossom Luck that will benefit single people who could start new relationships. Those born in the years of the Rat, Dragon, and Monkey will be specifically favored in the romance department.
- Its a good year to be pregnant and have kids! As babies born this year are doubly lucky with the blessing of the Nobleman and Academic stars, which bring intelligence and success.
- Go for Earth colors — cream, beige and terracotta — as they are lucky this year. That’s because the Earth element is missing in this year’s chart. They’re important to balance the elements of metal, fire and wood.
- For business, the stock market will do well in spring and summer, but will go through challenges late this year and onwards (watch out for devastating effects on the stock market in August) Businesses that rely heavily on fire, like restaurants and food concerns, will boom as well as those businesses dealing with wellness, like yoga, sports, exercise and others.Prospects are also bright for the beauty, fashion and entertainment sectors.
- Those born in the Year of the Rabbit will face big changes, like a new job or relocations. They should be careful lest they figure in accidents or suffer injuries and back problems. The rabbit is the conflict animal of the rooster.
- Roosters and rabbits have the Flower of Romance and everyone should watch out for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt who are both rabbits.
- Rabbits and boars will enjoy travel opportunities.
- Tiger and Ox people will see the world, seek further studies, get married and start a family. They have the Romance and Education luck on their side.
- Roosters must stay cool lest their defiant, argumentative side would plunge them in legal issues.
- Roosters will find happiness when they settle down and start a family this year. The Marriage Luck is with them.

Ms Maritess says there are three kinds of luck. Those born richer, prettier and more talented than others have Heaven’s Luck. Those who work harder have Mankind Luck, while feng shui practitioners have Earth Luck on their side. But adds that destiny still rests, not in your animal signs but what you do with your life.
Be sure to check out her Horoscope books for detailed forecasts for each sign which are out now at all National Bookstore outlets.
