So that is what they call it. The Bandage Dress (still more like bondage to me:).
I’ve seen it worn by Beyonce, Katy Perry, Blake Lively and a lot of other Hollywood celebrities who wanted to flaunt their sexy curvy figures.
Hervé Léger was founded in 1985 by the designer Hervé Peugnet. However, Karl Lagerfeld advised Peugnet that his surname Peugnet would be too difficult for Americans, his target market, to pronounce, suggested he use the surname Léger. Herve pioneered the creation of so-called bandage dresses, so-called “body-con” (body-conscious) garments made using materials traditionally associated with foundation garments to create bandage dresses that would mold and shape the wearer’s figure with its signature bandage-like strips.
In September 1998, Hervé Léger was acquired by the BCBG Max Azria where Designer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Max Azria brought new life to the label with his own fabulous creations, quickly embraced by today’s most renowned style-setters, including Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Diane Kruger, Miranda Kerr and Jennifer Lopez.
Today, the exclusive and ultra chic fashion house responsible for pioneering the iconic “bandage dress,” has finally found its way to the Philippines’ style capital Manila, opening its only store in Asia.

Flanked by equally high-end and luxurious brands, Hervé Léger opens at the upscale East Wing of Shangri-La Plaza. Capturing the allure of the modern, powerful woman with its exclusive couture and dynamic ready-to-wear collections, the Hervé Léger look is designed with the infamous, body contouring dress in mind, seamlessly sculpting the female silhouette with signature banding construction. Paying tribute to empowered femininity while maintaining the house’s heritage, it makes an unforgettable statement of glamour.
HERVE LEGER is now open at Level 1, Atrium, East Wing Shangri-La Plaza., Edsa cor. Shaw Blvd, Mandaluyong.
