Hero for All: A Nationwide Search for Filipinos Already Making a Difference

Every April 9, the Philippines observes Araw ng Kagitingan, a day rooted in the Fall of Bataan—one of the most defining moments of World War II that highlighted sacrifice, endurance, and resistance.

Today, the setting is different.
The stories happen in communities, not battlefields—people stepping in where help is needed, organizing support, and continuing to serve even while facing their own challenges.

“Hero for All: Honoring Stories of the Everyday Filipino” is built around those stories.
Launched on April 9, 2026, the initiative by Casino Plus, in partnership with the Alden Richards Foundation, opens a nationwide search for 20 Filipinos whose everyday actions have created real impact within their communities.

The program was formally introduced through “Hero for All: First Door Opens,” held at Fairmont Hotel in Makati City, with broadcast journalist Pinky Webb hosting and Alden Richards leading the campaign as its main advocate.
“Heroes are everywhere—not on pedestals, but in everyday acts of compassion, courage, and service. This game-changing platform goes beyond recognition. It empowers individuals to scale their impact and, through simple acts of kindness, help build communities of heroes,” Casino Plus said in its program rationale.

The initiative is structured as a national search, but the direction is clear: identify efforts that are already working at the community level and give them the support to expand.
Twenty individuals will be selected. Each will receive a trophy and a total of ₱1 million, allocated between their chosen cause and a partner community organization—ensuring that recognition translates into sustained, tangible impact.

“Heroism doesn’t end with recognition—it begins when one act inspires another. We are proud to partner with Alden Richards, who embodies the spirit of this movement through the many lives he has quietly touched,” Casino Plus added.
For Alden Richards, the campaign reflects how heroism is seen today.

“I am grateful to partner with Casino Plus in this meaningful initiative. We want to normalize how people see heroes—today, they are everyday Filipinos who, despite their own struggles, still choose to help others.”
The platform itself began development in December 2025, with the goal of building a system that not only recognizes modern-day heroes but also gives them the means to replicate and scale their impact.
Nominations are open from April 10 to May 1, 2026.

Entries can be submitted through Casino Plus’ official social media platforms or through offline nomination postcards distributed nationwide, allowing participation even in communities with limited internet access.
To nominate, participants must provide the nominee’s name, location, and a 150-word description of their act of service, along with at least one supporting material such as a photo, news link, or endorsement letter. Video submissions are also accepted by tagging the official account #CasinoPlusHeroForAll.
All entries will undergo validation before being endorsed to a jury panel composed of an Alden Richards, an academician, a media representative, and a PAGCOR representative.

The campaign will culminate on August 31, 2026, with the Grand Hero for All Awarding Ceremony, timed with the celebration of National Heroes Day.
If you know someone who has been doing the work—helping others, building something for their community, or stepping in where support is lacking—this is the window to put their story forward.
