Haier Philippines Introduces Innovative Cooling Technology Amid Rising Summer Heat

Last week, the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Manila released a memorandum ordering public schools to conduct classes only from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. until next month amid the scorching heat being felt in the country.

Back when I was still in school, I remember classes being suspended because of rain, but never because of extreme heat. The summer heat never bothered us and we would even play basketball outdoors during lunchtime under the full wrath of the sun.

As regions across the Philippines experience increasingly dangerous heat index levels, Haier Philippines has responded by launching its new UV Cool Connect Pro series, an advanced line of air conditioners designed to offer significant relief and improve indoor air quality during extreme temperatures. This launch aims to assist Filipino families in coping with the severe heat that can impact daily living and health.

The UV Cool Connect Pro, part of Haier’s Split Type Deluxe Inverter series, is equipped with state-of-the-art features tailored to enhance comfort and efficiency. Available in capacities ranging from 1.0HP to 2.5HP, these air conditioners use UVC Sterilization technology to ensure that the air in homes is not only cool but also free of viruses and bacteria. The pre-installed UV lights in each unit actively purify the air, offering a safer environment for families during these hot months.

This innovative series is controlled via Haier’s Smart Control technology, allowing users to operate their air conditioning units remotely through Wi-Fi. This feature provides unparalleled convenience, enabling users to adjust their home’s climate from any location, thereby enhancing user experience and flexibility.

In response to the rising costs of electricity and increasing environmental concerns, the UV Cool Connect Pro utilizes DC Inverter Technology, which saves up to 63% in energy compared to traditional non-inverter units. This technology not only reduces the economic burden on households but also contributes to environmental sustainability. Additionally, the series employs Self-Clean Technology and uses Eco-friendly R32 Refrigerant, which further minimizes its ecological footprint.

The introduction of the UV Cool Connect Pro series is especially crucial at a time when many schools and institutions in the hotter regions of the Philippines lack adequate cooling systems, directly affecting students’ ability to concentrate and learn. Haier’s new technology addresses these critical needs by ensuring that educational environments are conducive to learning, even under extreme weather conditions.

Mr. Yan Xuhong, CEO of Haier Philippines, emphasized the importance of innovation in meeting consumer needs, particularly in challenging climates. “The UV Cool Connect Pro is a testament to Haier’s commitment to providing products that not only offer superior performance and convenience but also contribute to a healthier environment,” he stated.

With prices starting at Php 39,495, the UV Cool Connect Pro is now available at air conditioning specialist stores and through online platforms like Shopee and Lazada. This series is set to redefine how Filipino families and educational institutions combat the challenges of extreme heat, ensuring comfort, safety, and efficiency are within reach during the critical summer months.
