Filipino folklore takes center stage in JackCITY’s Saturday airing of Grimm Season 3. The episode entitled “Mommy Dearest” sees Agent Wu (Reggie Lee) recall a tale his grandmother told him of a mystical Filipino monster called an “Aswang”.
Agent Wu is forced to revisit his childhood memories when a pregnant Filipino woman informs Nick (David Giuntoli) and Hank (Russell Hornsby) of being attacked by a monstrous Wesen with a snake-like tongue who attacks her belly. Wu can’t help but wonder if the myth his grandmother had told him is in fact real.
