They say the reason grandparents and grandchildren get along so well is that they have a common enemy–the parents.
While I wasnt really close to my grandparents, I only realized this was true when my nephew Calvin was born. Now my parents are perhaps the most hands on people I know, but with Calvin they were even more extra attentive. They would even have some disagreements with Calvin’s dad because they spoil their only grandson too much.
