FUJIFILM to operate Eco-Friendly Printer Facility in Laguna starting August 2026

FUJIFILM Business Innovation is strengthening its presence in the Philippines with the launch of a new remanufacturing facility designed to promote sustainability in the region.
The new Circular Manufacturing Center (CMC) will be located at FUJIFILM Optics Philippines Inc. (FOPH) in Calamba, Laguna, and is expected to begin operations by August 2026.

The facility will focus on producing remanufactured multi-function printers (MFPs) by collecting used units from across the Asia-Pacific region.
These devices will be completely disassembled, inspected, and cleaned, with reusable parts carefully restored before being reassembled into high-quality, like-new printers.
Each remanufactured printer will undergo the same strict quality checks as brand-new models and will carry a fresh manufacturing date, product name, and serial number. These eco-conscious products can reuse up to 84% of parts by weight, helping reduce waste and environmental impact.
Why the Philippines?
FUJIFILM chose the Philippines because of its strategic location in the Asia-Pacific region and its well-established logistics and supply chain capabilities. The new CMC will be housed within the existing FOPH facility, which already manufactures precision imaging equipment and lenses for the Fujifilm Group.

FOPH’s advanced assembly expertise and skilled Filipino workforce make it an ideal site to lead this sustainability-driven initiative. FUJIFILM will also train key personnel to manage the remanufacturing processes, modeled after the company’s successful system in Japan.
“The new CMC in the Philippines plays a vital role in our global goal to reduce natural resource consumption and CO₂ emissions,” said Mr. Mutsuki Tomono, Executive Advisor for ESG and Circular Manufacturing Strategy at FUJIFILM Business Innovation. “This initiative reflects our commitment to building a more sustainable society.”

Boosting the Circular Economy
FUJIFILM has long been a pioneer in product recycling and environmental responsibility. Since 1995, the company has followed a resource circulation policy, examining every stage of the product lifecycle—from planning to disposal—to minimize its environmental impact.
The Laguna facility joins other remanufacturing sites already established in China and the Netherlands, reinforcing the company’s global circular economy network. The CMC in the Philippines will initially focus on remanufacturing FUJIFILM’s award-winning Apeos Port-VII A3 color printer, with plans to scale up production.
