Empress Dining Palace offers you a mooncake fit for royalty

Passionate in preserving and sharing authentic Chinese culture and its golden values, The Empress Dining Palace, celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival this October 1 with its Cantonese rendition of an indispensable Mid-Autumn pastry – The Mooncake.

The Empress Dining Palace unveils two classic mooncakes – White Lotus with Double Egg Yolk and Plain White Lotus each meticulously elegant in appearance and generously filled with the iconic White Lotus paste made from fresh lotus seeds.

Luxuriously encased in a treasure box are four luscious mooncakes, with two of each flavor, retailing at P2,088. As this time-honored pastry is meant to be gifted to family, friends and colleagues, bulk orders in six and above are priced at P1,888 per box.

Mid-Autumn Festival or Moon Festival is the second grandest Chinese occasion after Chinese New Year celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month – the night when the moon is believed to be at its fullest and brightest.

In Chinese culture, the full moon is an auspicious representation of reunion, harmony, and luck, and complementing its roundness is the mooncake, the quintessential delicacy shared with friends and family to express love and prosperity.

Orders may be placed in advance by calling 8292 0807 or 0915 543 1862 and are available for pickup and delivery. Delivery may be arranged via The Empress Express, The Empress Dining Palace’s official delivery brand and service, or through the guest’s chosen courier.

“Apart from our commitment to share the taste of authentic Chinese dishes, we are also dedicated to sharing Chinese tradition in its most original form. In this case, the Mid-Autumn Festival has been embedded in Chinese tradition for more than 3,500 years already and one of the roots of this festival are the mooncakes. The White Lotus itself carries the history of Mid-Autumn,” explained Aida Velasco, Chief Operating Officer of The Empress Dining Palace, on why the restaurant offers only two classic flavors.
