For a nation born with creativity running through its veins, hosting an event that would do justice to the artistic caliber of Filipino tattoo artists posed as the biggest challenge to Dutdutan 11.
Yet for the 15,000 people who attended the event, the biggest and grandest annual tattoo exposition in the country was able to live up to expectations as it hosted the two-day mega event at World Trade Center on August 26 and 27.
Ink enthusiasts, tattoo virgins, curious onlookers, inked celebrities and the best local and international tattoo artists gathered at Dutdutan 11 for one colossal lifestyle experience.
Backed up by Tribal Gear Phils., Dutdutan pioneered the biggest tattoo event in the country, participated in by local and international inkers. It is also the first ever full lifestyle event that brings together differing cultures and mainstreaming concepts once thought of as taboo-all under one roof.
This year’s celebrations featured works from acclaimed local and international inkers who vied for prestige in 15 various categories. “Tattoo of the Day” remained the most coveted award as entries for this category are created on the day of the event itself. Killer works were on display as tattoo artists and their ‘collectors’ show it off on stage.

Among the special international guests, who flew in just for the occasion, were Tribal crew headed by infamous inker, Big Tiny of Unauthorized Ink, exceptional multimedia artist Willie T.; hardcore rapper/MC Ceekay Jones; and femme fatale inker Morgan Eyes.
Intensity turned on Dutdutan’s Friday night as the URCC (Universal Reality Combat Championship) invaded the scene with its combat exhibition fights. With an elevated ring and a giant LED screen, shouts and clamor ensued from the crowds as brutal strength was unleashed. Also highlighting Friday night is the infamous DJ/ drummer duo, 51 Fifty, of Dustin J and Presto One. The duo, which has already made a name for itself on the celebrity-soaked Las Vegas strip, built up the buzz, turned heads and captivated crowds in Dutdutan’s music-lovingcrowds.
The other highlights of the event were Tribal Gear’s Bikini Contest, Dutdutan’s drum Duel and the Flip-Top competition. Aiming to discover and give due respect to the best amateur drummer in town, sticks broke and drums smashed as contestants displayed their skills and tricks, while lines were thrown like punches during the event’s first ever flip-top battle.
Ending these nights were fully amped performances from some of our top local music artists today, leaving the crowd all breathless and wanting for more: Valley of Chrome, General Luna, Tanya Markova, Franco, Chicosci, Grin Department, Sinosikat, Maplesyrup, The Breed, Kamikazee, and The Dawn.
