February has always been an exciting time for seasoned Pinoy travellers planning their trips for the year.
As travel professionals witness a surge in travel-related purchases across all consumer demographics, indicating more Filipinos are gearing up for a year of extensive travel.
Evangeline Tankiang-Manotok, president of the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA), welcomes this trend, highlighting Filipinos’ eagerness to explore the world again post-COVID-19 restrictions.
In response to this travel enthusiasm, the 31st Travel Tour Expo (TTE) and the 9th International Travel Trade Expo 2024 set to take place from Feb. 2 to 4, 2024, at the SMX Convention Center Manila, Pasay City is ready to welcome all these travels with a diverse range of travel deals and exclusive discounts, catering to various budgets and preferences.
Tankiang-Manotok emphasizes PTAA’s collective expertise, with its 550 members, ensuring Filipino travelers receive the best advice and discover numerous travel options.
TTE 2024 will host over 200 exhibitors, including airlines, domestic and international travel agencies, hotels, resorts, and more, creating a marketplace for travel enthusiasts seeking enticing deals.
Despite the rise of online platforms in the travel industry, TTE organizers recognize the importance of personal assistance. Dominic Castillejos of Batanes Travels and Tours notes that while digital platforms enhance accessibility, TTE allows attendees to engage with travel agents for a more comprehensive understanding of offers compared to online promotions.
The Philippines, with its record-breaking 5 million international tourist arrivals in 2023, remains a tourist haven. Tankiang-Manotok highlights the country’s picturesque beaches and hospitality, with local favorites such as Boracay, Bohol, Palawan, Siargao, and emerging interest in Batanes.
For international travel, first-time local travelers favor destinations like Hong Kong, Thailand, and Singapore, while high-end travelers opt for European destinations. TTE 2024 is sponsored by key entities, including the Tourism Promotions Board, Philippine Airlines, and Union Bank of the Philippines, showcasing the collaborative effort to make travel accessible and exciting for Filipinos.
