Yes I admit, Pabaya ang nanay ko. Napabayaan ako sa kusina.
As if I could ever deny that with my very obvious AB.
But I don’t blame her a bit, because she is an awesome cook especially whenever she cooks afritada, menudo, kaldereta or her Josie-style spaghetti.
I’ve always wanted to learn how to cook, but I don’t think I have the patience for the slicing sauteing, frying, boiling, simmering parts and I just want to fast forward everything to the “tasting” part.
Yesterday afternoon however, I got the chance to “help” cook a recipe with my teammates Lou Ventigan and Marlon Aldanese of Cook Magazine as part of Hunt’s Kitchen Superstar media event held at the Fab Restaurant at Holiday Inn Galleria. And when I meant “help” all I got to do was open the can of coconut milk, the Hunts tomato sauce and unpack the other ingredients.
Still. it was a fun and encouraging experience since using Hunt’s made preparing chicken curry a whole lot simpler— and more delicious even for beginners like us.
There is hope.
Now if i could only find the keys to our kitchen.
