AXIS TIME OUT OF TIME: TIME FOR A WORTHY CAUSE

Contemporary classic watches that transcend time with designs that are timeless, versatile and efficient– qualities the best describe Axis–watches.

Axis released its first Limited Edition timepiece for the movie “Man of Steel”, in time for its film showing in 2013. Only 300 pieces of the Axis Man of Steel timepiece was released around the world, providing collectors with a new merchandise of the American cultural icon. In the same year, Axis partnered with Children’s Hour to aid in the rebuilding efforts for the people of Tacloban brought about by Typhoon Yolanda through the Time of Hope project.

This year, Axis has partnered once again with Children’s Hour with the project “A Class of Your Own”. Axis also collaborated with renowned Filipino artists Ram Mallari, Buds Convocar and Salvador Ching to showcase inspiring art works created with the use of Axis watch parts. Celebrities Sam YG and Lucky Mercado visited the artists’ work hub for a one on one session on the creation of the Axis art pieces. The art works are on display and are up for bidding at the Time Out of Time Exhibit at the SM Mall of Asia from November 6-12, 2014. Proceeds from the auction will be given to the “A Class of Your Own” project of Children’s Hour.

Axis Watches believes that time is more than just about trends or superficial style. It believes that time is precious and how you use it, defines who you are.

It is with this thought that Axis collaborated with artists and talents for a charity art exhibit.

Axis launched the exhibit entitled “Time Out of Time” on November 12, 2014 at SM Mall of Asia. The exhibit featured the works of artists Ram Mallari, Buds Convocar and Salvador Ching which is a collection of mixed media that incorporated Axis watches.

Ram Mallari feels happy, humbled and grateful to be able to take part in the exhibit that benefits children. Ram says, “The world is such a big place with so many needs that my little acts of kindness and frankly, my whole life, seem so small.”

Mallari’s Axis artwork is called “Time Voyager”. He is hoping that this piece will help raise more awareness on recycling and its value. Ram wants to inspire people to turn scraps into creative and functional pieces and in the process, help them understand the value of his work and its purpose.

Buds Convocar has always been enthusiastic when it comes to activities that can help those who are in need. He has always willingly participated in events that help those who have less in life. So it was an easy decision for him to take part in the Axis “Time Out of Time” exhibit.

His work is entitled “We All Need More Time”. It is inspired by the importance of time and how we use it. It communicates the need for balance — to focus on the challenges that confront us but still make time for the people we love, especially in celebrating our triumphs.

Salvador “Buddy” J. Ching’s work is entitled “Oras-yon” which is part of the Women of Malolos Series. His work is inspired by the memories of the past and represents the images of our history. Buddy says it is an honor for him to be part of the Axis event, “Nung makita ko yung imbitasyon, hindi ako nag dalawang isip, lalo na may mga tutulungan.”
