I worked with a lady once who had everything– brains, beauty and the body of a goddess– but there was one thing we noticed about her– she always and ONLY wore pants. It was only during one of the company sports fests where my office mates and I finally discovered her not so pleasant secret…leg veins.
For a lot of women (and admiring men), having toned legs and a butt is just as important as having all the curves in right places. Women are constantly searching for the elusive secret to having sexy legs and just looking at all those lining up at the treadmill is just one proof. But although these can be great forms of exercise to get started with, the secret they are searching for is in many ways a lot easier to carry out and much more time efficient.
The secret they search for exists in two things: Nutrition and Proper Exercise plus a little help from Antistax.
Antistax Tablets are based on the unique bio-active ingredient Flaven and Contains a special bio-active natural ingredient called Flaven. It Powerful antioxidant that may help strengthen and protect your veins from the inside
Antistax Tablets offer effective relief by improving the blood flow in your legs3. They will reduce pain and swelling noticeably so you can enjoy being your active self again.
For many years, researchers puzzled over the fact that French wine growers almost never suffered from vein disorders. Then they discovered that the farmers were making infusions and poultices from vine leaves to treat their heavy, swollen and painful legs. This home remedy was proving to be a great success.
Pharmacologists analyzed the active ingredients of the red vine leaf and developed it into an effective extract, containing significant amounts of bio-active Flaven. This pure herbal extract is the basis of the Antistax range of products for tired, and swollen legs.
One Antistax tablet contains as much bio-active Flaven as you would get from three bottles of red wine? So it delivers good news for your legs without the next morning headache!
Last June 3, Antistax held the “Tea Time With Tweetie and Ellie” event at the the Chi Spa Shangri-la Hotel to educate women about the importance of taking care of their legs. The event was lead by its ambassadress Tweetie de Leon-Gonzales, one of the country’s most notable supermodel, TV personality, entrepreneur, wife, and mother and host Gelli Victor, who herself is a licensed and AIM-certified body jam instructor.
Antistax is available in two forms: topical cooling leg gel and in tablets. The cooling gel contains bioactive flaven, a type of flavanoid deried from a special variety of grape leaves, and the calming and cooling properties of peppermint oil and menthol, offering immediate relaxation. On the other hand, the tablet offers a 360mg of the same falavanoid, which may help improve the blood flow in the legs and fight tired, heavy legs.

At the event, guests got to experience what Tweetie does on regular from her exercise routines, her squash practice, her breakfast diet as well as her passion for creating hand crafted accessories.

Tweetie then confessed how “Ellie” the elephant, a metaphor for leg cramps, slowed her down and made doing her daily tasks more difficult.
“I use my legs a lot for the various things I do in my life – sports, work, errands, and my social duties too. I need my legs to perform whenever and however they are needed. And since they are overworked, I make sure to take good care and pamper them regularly,” Tweetie told guests.
“Chronic Varicose Insufficiency is common in every woman and is hereditary, but it can be prevented by eating right and balanced diet, keeping an active lifestyle, and by using the product, shared Dr. Melvin Pasay, Boehringer Ingeheim Philippines Group Brand Manager.
Several of Tweetie’s celebrity friends including Gelli de Belen, Agot Isidro, Mylene Dizon, Regine Tolentino and Nikki Valdez were also present at the event to have their legs checked via the Plethysmograph and venous duplex scan. Guests were also encouraged to try it out and were treated to to leg and foot massages to get a feel of the Antistax Cooling Leg Gel firsthand.
Dimples on your cheeks are cute. But dimples on your butt cheeks? Crazy!
Before we get into the tips, however, lets look at some of the common leg issues:
Most common symptoms that women with leg issues suffer from are heavy, tired, swollen and achy legs. These can be very bothersome and keep women from being active and enjoying life to the full.
>>Heavy, tired legs: the feeling that you can’t walk another step and an overwhelming urge to crawl into an armchair to rest your aching limbs.
>>Achy legs: a painful feeling that can be experienced inside and outside the leg.
>>Swollen legs: when your legs are visibly more swollen, or puffy, than usual.
>>Visible varicose veins: When your veins are dilated, they often cause swelling and appear blue, stringy and visible through the skin (link to leg vein disorders).
>>Tingling sensation in the legs: the feeling of restlessness and itching within the legs.
>>Calf cramps: this is a spasm of your leg muscles and often happens at night and can be very painful.
Restless Legs Syndrome: often combined with a tingling sensation in the legs. Restless legs can be very bothersome especially when you have to sit or stand for a long periods of time. Read more about Restless Legs Syndrome here.
>>Painful joints: both knees and ankles can feel sore when standing, moving around or when touched.
Water retention: as well as looking more swollen than usual, you can sometimes even feel the excess fluid pooling in your legs.
>>Lifestyle factors can have a significant influence on the health of your legs.
So what should you do have great looking legs?
First is to eat healthy. Pumping blood to the legs and around the body requires a strong heart and an efficient circulatory system. Eating a balanced diet with plenty of fiber, fresh fruits, and vegetables can help maintain good leg vein circulation and keep the heart healthy. This is because many of these natural foods contain flavonoids, which are known to help blood vessels and the vein circulation stay healthy.
Fruits, vegetables, and whole grain products, including all cereals, should make up the bulk of a well balanced diet. Vegetables that are particularly beneficial for the heart and circulation include broccoli, cabbage, carrots, spinach, onions, and tomatoes.
Bananas, oranges, grapefruits, grapes, cranberries, strawberries, blueberries and raspberries are also good fruits for maintaining healthy leg vein circulation and healthy capillary action.
Eat garlic, fennel, beetroot and watercress to your heart’s content. Garlic can help reduce blood fat and cholesterol levels and maintain healthy arteries and an efficient blood flow. Fennel also helps regulate blood fat and keep the heart healthy. Beetroot and watercress contain antioxidants to help prevent tissue damage and help stimulate the circulatory system.

The way that you sit and your general posture during the day can affect how your legs feel and can make aching, heavy and tired leg feelings worse.
If you have to sit or stand for long periods, remember to keep moving your legs and changing your position. Stretch your legs, ankles and feet at regular intervals. Also, try to keep your shoulders back, chest up and stomach pulled in. It’s hard to be perfect all of the time, so maybe you can devise your own ‘reminder’ to prompt you to do this, say a picture or a key word which works for you, at work or at home.
Crossing your legs can restrict blood flow to and from the legs, and can increase pressure in your leg veins. Try and make a conscious effort not to cross them, or at least not for a long period of time – placing a magazine or book on your lap may make it easier to remember.
Being overweight often makes leg problems worse but do not fall into the “crash diet” trap.Losing a few pounds will therefore not only help you feel more confident, it will also help your legs feel lighter, and it will be very beneficial for your coronary system.

As most of us are more likely to be sitting down most of the day you can also do some leg even if you are stuck in your office chair.
Foot & Ankle Rotation: Sitting in your chair, cross right leg over left knee. Rotate right foot slowly, making large complete circles. Perform 10-15 rotations. Now cross left leg over right knee and repeat.
Ankle Eversion & Inversion: Sit comfortably in a chair and extend legs forward. Evert your ankles, so that your heels are touching, straighten your feet out as far as you can (if possible so that your toes are in line with your heels). Hold for 2-3 seconds. Now, invert ankles by turning the soles outwards and away from each other and the toes inwards as far as comfortable, and hold for a few seconds. Perform 5 times in each direction.
Ankle Flexes & Extension: Sit back in the chair with legs extended and foot and toes flexed towards the body. Now, point the foot and toes away from body. Perform 10-15 flexions and extensions with each foot.
