Among the four lead stars of Star Cinema’s upcoming movie Four Sisters and a Wedding, Angel Locsin probably has the most interesting love story.
Who would have thought that a Twitter message from Philippine Azkals star Phil Younghusband asking her out on a date would be the start of a very romantic relationship?
The couple recently celebrated their first year anniversary on May 27 with Angel surprising Phil in Singapore.
While Phil has admitted that Angel is indeed “the one” for him, the Azkals star say they have no plans of settling down just yet since they are both still very busy with their respective careers. The wait, however, is proving to be very exciting for the 28-year-old actress.
“Parang nakakatuwa kasi mas nagiging excited ka para sa bagay na ‘yon,” Angel told reporters at the grand press conference Four Sisters And A Wedding on Sunday at the Dolphy Theater of ABS-CBN.
Angel revealed she first thought of starting her own family at the age of 22 but her work kept her very busy. “Lumagpas na ako sa deadline ko pero darating at darating din naman ‘yan and siguro kapag nagkaroon ako ng pamilya, sobrang the best siguro ‘yon.”
The Film Academy of the Philippines Best Actress winner added she’ll think about marriage after she’s provided her family with a stable life. “OK naman na sila, parang gusto ko lang maibigay kung ano pa yung kakayanin ko, di ba? Mahirap din kasi yung magsisimula ka ng pamilya nang hindi ka pa ready. Gusto ko lang lahat maayos.”
Anniversary movie
Star Cinema’s initial movie offering to kick off its 20th anniversary celebration also stars Toni Gonzaga, Bea Alonzo, Shaina Magdayao and Enchong Dee.
The movie is directed by box office director Cathy Garcia-Molina who noted, “When they told me about doing a family drama, I said I didn’t want the typical mother-daughter or parent-child story, so we came up with this concept of siblings, and immediately the five stars were the first names that we thought of. The only challenge was to give their characters equal exposure in the movie.”
It will be the first time for Bea to do a family comedy and said she enjoyed working with her new “sisters.” “Masaya kami sa set, and marami kaming natutuhan sa isa’t isa,” she related.
As for Shaina, the young actress said she finds nothing wrong with the billing of their names and is just happy to be part of the movie. “Walang issue sa akin iyon, ang importante is nakasama ako sa ganito kalaking pelikula with Angel, Bea, Toni and Enchong.”
Toni revealed she was a bit hesitant about accepting the role at first thinking it would be a very dramatic movie. “Natakot ako na baka hindi ako makasabay and, hindi ko alam kung ano ang ibibigay ko . . . baka kulang. But I trust direk Cathy Garcia-Molina.”
Toni was also all praises for her co-stars, “Walang mood itong apat na ito . . . sila ngang apat ang walang mood sa lahat ng mga nakatrabaho ko! Parang nahihiya akong mag-attitude, kasi wala silang attitude. Kaya itinatago ko yung attitude ko,”she then joked.
When Enchong was asked who among the four he’d like to have a sister, his quick reply was “Wala! Sayang kase eh!”
The movie tells the story of the Salazar siblings: Teddie (Toni), the eldest, who works as a teacher in Spain; Bobbie (Bea) a successful career woman in New York; Alex (Angel) a Manila-based independent film assistant director; Gabbie (Shaina) a school teacher who lives at home with their mother;and CJ (Enchong) the youngest child who put all his sisters in shock after announcing that he is going to marry his girlfriend of three months.
After a few years of not being together as a whole, the sisters come together for the wedding and agree to dissuade their baby brother from marrying his fiancée. But as they “plan” the wedding, the Salazar siblings also face the feelings and issues they’ve tried to keep for the longest time.
Also part of the cast are Coney Reyes, Angeline Quinto, Sam Milby, Carmi Martin, Buboy Garovillo, Berand Palanca and Janus Del Prado.
