Growing up, the trio of bopis, dinuguan and lechon paksiw from Goldilocks, was one of our favorite pasalubongs from our dad.
And when I was in college, Goldilocks’ Laon Laan branch (besides being the source of most of my birthday cakes) was perhaps my most visited resto during my four years at UST.
Even during the pandemic, my partner and I would line up to get their cakes for my birthday, and mother’s / fathers’ day. But the one thing i missed most (besides their sansrival) was dining it at their restaurant.
So when we got invited to a super exclusive dine-in experience (there were only four of us) I just couldn’t say no.
Located at the 3rd Floor of the bridgeway of SM Megamall, its hard to miss the newly-renovated store with its super bright lights and very inviting interiors, which was the total opposite of how dreary and dark it looked before the makeover. Now, if it wasn’t for the cake display, you might even mistake it for one of those clothing botiques.
This brand-new concept, which is located at the 3rd level of SM Megabridge, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong, was conceptualized by Goldilocks as a way for customers to experience the bakeshop’s delectable cakes and pastries as well as their signature Filipino dishes!
The interiors are now dominated by white tiles and yellow accents, and according to Ms. Eloisa, from Goldilocks Corp. Communication, they wanted to “own” that color theme and make it a signature of all Goldilocks restaurants moving forward.
The other thing I also immediately noticed was how good the layout was. There was a cake display and several pasalubong shelves (mamon, polvoron, etc) and a separate counter near the entrance so you don’t have to go inside and line up together with the rest of the diners.
The dining area also had a good layout, in accordance with IATF rules, so there are only tables for two with acrylic barriers separating diners. So if you’re worried about safety, you’ll be happy to know that Goldilocks has their own safety regulations well in place.
The Megamall branch will be the template of all other Goldilocks casual dine-in stores moving forward as a way to welcome back its guest and also give one of the most iconic bakeshops in the country a more modern look.
Along with this revolution of change,Goldilocks, aims to further serve the cravings and needs of their customers. While simultaneously improving their brand with the launch of their first casual dine-in store.
The casual dine-in store also offers improved Goldilocks signature dishes and new equally exciting meals, desserts, and drinks on its menu.
The new concept store also intends to highlight its comfortable atmosphere to its customers with its upgraded design and overhauled in-store services.
We were able to try the Laing Pasta, Lasagna Ala Cubana and the Caldereta Pie, all of which you should definitely try! We also got to sample thier new empanadas. And they are now offering Coffee as well!
Now you can have coffee and cake at Goldilocks! How’s that for a merienda combo?
“The Goldilocks Casual Dine-in store marks a significant stepping stone in the history of the company,” said Genaline Austero, Goldilocks’ Vice President for Marketing.
“We take pride in our strong heritage that has enabled us to serve our loving customers for the past 54 years. The opening of this new dine-in store aims to not only give thanks to our current customers but to welcome new members into the Goldilocks family,” she added.
