I don’t know about you, but I love doing the  laundry.

Just like how cleaning and decluttering alleviates stress, washing clothes gives me a reason to take a break and relax during the weekend.

I can catch an episode of my current favorite series while its on its wash cycle and by the time its rinsing, I’ve made myself a snack or got started on my social media browsing.

The next is to be a bit more systematic with your sorting your dirty/clean clothers. Get each family member a laundry basket each. Make it a fairly big one so it could contain a week’s worth of clothes. You can load each family member’s clothes separately to save you time of having to sort it out once you are done washing.  You could also create your own system maybe separate all your whites from the colored ones, or maybe the clothes you wear at home from the ones that you wear outside.

Using a divided laundry hamper will allow your household to ‘pre sort’ their dirty laundry pile into lights, darks and delicates. When it’s time to wash, instead of digging wildly in the laundry hamper, you can simply grab the correct divider and begin washing without any fuss.

If you have bigger kids you can teach them how to do it and outsource their laundry to them as it gives them a sense of responsibility and teaches them time management as well. More hands helping at laundry time and simple organisation strategies means less work for you, so everyone can enjoy the weekend.
