Power Mac Center Arcadium 3– Bigger, Better and more Fun!
I am a gamer.
And, I guess all that I have achieved (from being a writer, columnist, editor, publicist, and now an online journalist) began with my love for games (even became a GameDoctor) once.
But as much as I hate to admit it– I kinda suck at competitive games.
I’m fairly good against the computer but playing against someone else just kinda terrifies me. Stupid to think as it may seem, I kinda feel sorry for my opponent whenever I win, but get pretty much pissed whenever I lose.
Its been a couple of years since Power Mac’s Arcadium series began, and for the past two years I’ve weaseled my way out of the event, knowing that a lot of my media gamer friends will be there and would be more than willing to whoop my sorry @ss into submission.
Truth be told I only learned about Arcadium 3 a day before the event when my OrangeMagazineTV editor Jeman Villanueva reminded me of the event. We were supposed to go together and since he wasnt much of a gamer I agreed, thinking at least I’m sure I could beat someone 🙂
Unfortunately, Jeman couldn’t come and as I saw gaming veteran Alex Villafania and a bunch of other tech writers who also played quite a bit, I kinda accepted the fact that I wouldn’t be bringing home any trophies and decided I’d just have a good time.
And I was right. I didn’t win any trophy– but I did bring home the most enviable prize of all–an iPad Mini!

I also discovered that i didn’t suck as much as I thought as I was in the top three in several games–not bad for a first timer….but I’m definitely gunning for the top spot next year!
Besides the prizes and competition though, the best thing about Arcadium was that I got to enjoy all the things I loved about gaming– from the camaraderie of friends, discovering new games and gadgets, and basically just having a lot of fun!
