BLOGGERS JOIN #QCROCKSAT75 FESTIVITIES THIS WEEKEND

It was a celebration 75 years in the making.

As the biggest city in the country celebrated its 75th year, 75 influential bloggers have signed up for one unique #BLOGVENTURE to experience and take part of the numerous events the city has prepared for its residents and tourists. With the hashtag “#WhatWhereInQC”, these bloggers will visit QC tourist destinations and post their photos to enhance the City’s social media presence both locally and globally.

To make us bloggers look good our very first engagement was the ProjectHeadshot with ace photographer Niccolo Cosme that happened October 1, at the Bahay ni Quezon. And I must say, a lot of us never looked this good. hahaha

QC ACTIVITIES

A Blogathon will also include live tweets from influential social media celebrities in the likes of Ramon Bautista and will also feature celebrity bloggers that have more than a hundred thousand followers online. On the other hand, “#75ThingsToDoInQC” will be the hashtag used for a contest among bloggers for the best blog post about the top 75 things you must do in Quezon City. This contest is expected to generate posts about well-known places and those that are yet to be discovered.

On October 10 at 4 PM, starting from the Amoranto Stadium all the way to Tomas Morato Area will be a spectacular parade of 500 fully costumed festival dancers from the Philippines’ biggest and grandest fiesta celebrations. The City will bring home culturally-charged and fully synchronized dance exhibitions from Aklan’s Ati-atihan, Iloilo’s Dinagyang, Baguio’s Panagbenga, Bacolod’s Masskara, and Davao’s Kadayawan. This event will be enjoyed by residents and tourists alike. It’s a chance to experience five of our country’s best festivities all in one day without having to leave Quezon City.mardi_gras

Quezon City comes to life in a way that has never been done before.

The Grand Parade of Lights is a unique parade of extensively and colorfully LED-illuminated floats. At least 10 of these floats, escorted by dancers with lit costumes as well, will pass along Tomas Morato (please refer see map below for specific route). This event on October 10, 2015 is truly a Quezon City experience, each of the floats’ main attraction is a QC landmark, educating viewers of the Quezon City heritage and instilling in them a sense of pride of belonging.parade_of_lightsThe Grand Parade of Lights will extend until October 11 from 7:00 pm to 11:30. It shall follow a different route (please see map below for specific route). The colorful parade will end at the Quezon Memorial Circle, where they will be picture-perfectly parked for a much closer gaze.
