Here are 7 Reasons Why you should consider Guam as your next destination based on http://theguamguide.com/10-things-you-can-only-do-on-guam/

1.Enjoy Pristine Beaches: We may have some of the best beaches in the world but getting to it can be a challenge. In Guam the beaches and hotels are just minutes away from the airport. Crystalized waves and fun water activities make Guam’s sandy white beaches the perfect vacation getaway. Pack your swimsuit and sun-screen and enjoy Guam’s endless number of beach option.

Tumon is known for its beautiful beaches along its shores. Many hotels on the beach side provide bungalows for activities like banana boating and kayaking. These water activities provide an excellent opportunity to experience the waters of Guam firsthand. If you are not in such an adventurous mood, the vibrant colors and soothing sounds provide an excellent environment for lounging on the sand while achieving the perfect sun-kissed skin. If you decide to dip in for a swim, the waters are calm enough for relaxation while providing sufficient waves for beach play. If the daytime scene isn’t convincing enough, the sunsets will take your breath away. Shades of orange and pink contrast against the deepening shade of the ocean to create the perfect ambiance for a romantic walk on the beach.

Guam’s world-renowned beaches are famous for the perfect temperature of the waters. It isn’t too hot or too cold. You can comfortably enjoy swimming in the cool waters as you take in the gorgeous view of palm trees and ocean.

2. Dive into the World’s Deepest Ocean: James Cameron made international news in March 2012 when his one-man submersible journeyed to the Challenger Deep, the deepest point of the ocean, some 6.8 miles down. The Challenger Deep is located in the Marianas Trench, just 250 miles southwest of Guam. Guam is home to a handful of dive shops and is a diver’s dream complete with wrecks, vibrant reef systems, and temperate tropical weather.

3. Experience True Island Culture at the Guam Island Fiesta Tour The Guam Island Fiesta Tour (GIFT) introduces visitors into the homes of local families for village fiesta celebrations. They are greeted with shell leis, invited to participate in cultural activities like coconut husking, talaya throwing, and tuba drinking, and are treated to tables laden with authentic Chamorro cuisine. Contact the Guam Visitors Bureau for a current schedule.

4. 24-HOUR SHOPPING: Guam is deservedly known as an island with a rich history, a place of vibrant culture and an exciting playground for adventure. Perhaps no industry on Guam exemplifies this mood more expressively and completely than our robust shopping and high end retail scene, where international fashion houses, world renowned brands, friendly retail staff and exciting tax free deals await, especially during holiday season at year’s end.

Tumon is undeniably the center of Guam’s fashion and shopping universe, with a numerous collection of boutiques within several stores including The DFS Guam Galleria, The Plaza along The Pleasure Island strip and the Tumon Sands Plaza. A brief walk or trolley ride along Pale San Vitores Road offers access to a world of style within the span of just a few blocks. Here luxury, elegance and fashion forward trends come together in air conditioned harmony, and the tune is always a sweet one.

Beyond Tumon, Guam has more shopping in store with three large malls: The Agana Shopping Center in Hagåtña, Guam Premier Outlets in Tamuning, and Micronesia Mall in Dededo. Each of these malls has a distinct flavor, and a different shopping experience is waiting within each. With an amazing amount of retail space to satisfy even the choosiest visitor to our shores, whatever one is looking for, it’s a good bet they will find it on Guam.

Furthermore, Guam has an ace in hand that makes it an irresistible winner with international shoppers: shopping on Guam is duty free. Tax free shopping just makes the game more exciting.

5.  Climb the Tallest Mountain on Earth  Mount Lamlam (meaning lightning in Chamorro), located in the southwestern village of Agat, is the highest peak on Guam. Though Mount Lamlam is only 1,332 feet high, the distance from the peak to the bottom of the nearby Mariana Trench is perhaps the greatest change in elevation on Earth over such a short distance. The Marianas Trench reaches a maximum known depth of 6.78 miles. If Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth at 29,040 feet, was set in the deepest part of the Mariana Trench, there would be 6,760 feet of water left above it. Hikers can reach the mountain trailhead across from Cetti Bay Overlook and summit in about 30 minutes.
