Its been a trademark of sorts for SM Cinemas to have these grand displays to add to the anticipation of the upcoming big Hollywood movies.
Just like what they did for StarWars, Batman v Superman and the Avengers, SM Cinema gets moviegoers up and ready for an exciting ride with the launch of Cars 3 at SM City North EDSA on July 19, 5pm.
SM Cinema, and Disney, in celebration of the upcoming release of Cars 3 on July 26 brings a whole new experience to their movie goers as they unveiled the life-size replica of Lightning McQueen with the former racing champ and three-time Karter of the Year awardee, Matteo Guidicelli.
It has been more than ten years since the first “Cars” film was released, but Lightning McQueen remains an iconic character today. While Lightning is still the same self-assured, determined and fun-loving race car audiences fell in love with, his confidence is being tested by the new cars on the track.
Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary champion finds himself suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. Suddenly, he finds his dominance in the sport, as well as the confidence that got him there–threatened by younger, faster cars.
Determined to get back into pole position, #95 must decide if his love for racing is enough to fuel the comeback of his life.
“Cars 3” features Owen Wilson (“Shanghai Noon”) as the voice of Lightning McQueen. Cristela Alonzo (“The Angry Birds Movie”) voices tech-savvy trainer Cruz Ramirez, who tries to help Lightning return to greatness, and Annie Hammer (“The Social Network”) lends his voice to next-gen racer Jackson Storm, whose high-tech speed leaves Lightning McQueen behind.
Directed by Brian Fee, produced by Kevin Reher and co-produced by Andrea Warren, “Cars 3” is executive produced by John Lasseter, who directed the first two films in the franchise.

All movie goers and shoppers can also enjoy exciting activities and exclusive Cars 3 toys and collectibles by Mattel. The life-size replica of Lightning McQueen will also race its way to the different malls in Metro Manila: SM City North EDSA (July 19 to 26), S Maison (July 28 to August 8), SM Southmall (August 10 to 20), and SM City Fairview (August 22 to September 3).
All guests are also in for a treat as SM Cinema premiers Cars 3 right after the launch. Special advance screenings of the movie will also follow at SM City Clark (July 20), and SM Seaside City Cebu (July 21). Cars 3 opens in all SM Cinemas, July 26.
